bottleneck rx 5700xt with a i7 6700k at QHD bottleneck?

So my system has i7 6700k, gtx970,16 gb ddr4 2133mhz ram and a H170 motherboard.

I recently got a 1440p monitor and i feel like gtx970 is not giving me enough fps, and thinking to upgrade it to a rx 5700xt. I can not overclock my cpu even though i got a 6700k because my motherboard wont allow it. What i am asking is will there be a lot of bottleneck with i7 6700k without overclocking at 1440P.

if you're only targeting 60fps in modern titles, you won't be facing a bottleneck in the majority of titles on the side of your CPU

At 1440p you should be fine in most games I reckon.

You will have bottleneck on some modern games that are hungry for cores, but nothing to really worry about it. Go for it!

He could be facing bottleneck depending on game, but it will not hurt him if 60FPS is the target. But anyway, 6700K is still good enough for 1440p gaming.

No bottleneck,have same CPU,play all the titles at max with even weaker card...

But I wouldn't advise buying 5700 XT at all..

For Intel go with Nvidia...

This is opinion, not based in fact.

 

The 5700XT right now is a solid GPU with good drivers, and there is no reason whatsoever to base your GPU choice off your CPU vendor.

thanks everyone for their replies some of you said if you are targeting 60 fps i actually target 120 or so but i do not play that much modern games exept i am looking forward to play cyberpunk other than that i play r6 , destiny 2 or so, i get 60 fps with my 970 at medium on these games will rx 5700xt help me get 120 on high settings?

those games will want more cores/threads so the 6700K would hold you back for higher refresh rates

Other than that, the 5700XT should be able to get you better than 110 FPS constantly in the games mentioned with the settings mentioned.
