What will you be using it for I would maybe spice up the ram a little if the mobo supports and an ssd then it could be used for most tasks and some basic gaming like minecraft/csgo

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Have you maxed out your RAM? Replaced the hard drive with an SSD? If so, consider opening up the laptop, dusting it out and replacing the thermal paste on the CPU. Outside of that, get a new laptop.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Minecraft

Then getting the max ram the mobo supports and an SSD would be perfect, and maybe look for a used 960 / 970 card for gpu

Oh hell no, you're not stuck with one of those "ultra low power" prebuilts, are you?

Mind posting the model number? Sometimes those can be played with and improved, and usually they can't.

> SSD

> Ensure Dual-channel RAM @ fastest supported speed, for the GPU.

> Cut out ANY startup or background program that isn't strictly necessary.

> Go to a lightweight OS (Lubuntu, Arch Linux, Gentoo)

Post full specs and expectations (Programs, resolutions, etc.) for more precise advice.

Uh... you do know a laptop is a PC, right?

To OP: you really can't do much with those APUs to make it any quicker. Just ensure you have an SSD and dual-channel RAM of a decent speed and you're about as good as you can get with those, which is, to say, you aren't really doing much with that laptop.

EDIT: Never mind, AMD didn't even think that far ahead.

The dual-core CPUs from that generation only supported single-channel DDR4-2133 RAM.

Not gonna lie, I myself didn't even realize this.

I guess I had no reason to, but holy fuck, that's poor, especially for a CPU that's as constricted as this one is.
