alright guys im building my gaming computer at the end of this year, and is this keyboard okay https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-keyboard-sgk4020gkcr1us . is the Cherry MX red keys okay what are they like to type on?

Everyone's preferences are different. No one can tell you if Reds are ok to type on, because everyone's take is different. Some love it, some hate it.

Everyone has different preferences when it comes to Mechanical switches. Cherry MX Reds are light and linear -- some people have a hard time adjusting to the light actuation of the switch and they make typos for the first couple of weeks until they get used to the feel.

reds are pretty decent for gaming and typing as well. You might want to try out some different caps first, like blues and browns before you run and go buy a red though, as I would consider them better for typing, not to say red is bad.

if you don't have a large budget for your gaming computer (more than 1000 pounds), I wouldn't think about getting a mechanical keyboard. I think the money is better spent on other pc components inside the build itself or on a better monitor or mouse. Personally, I do like the feel of mechanical keyboards (It's kind of like a typewriter almost), but some people may not like it, and personally even though I enjoy them, I think the price premium is never worth it. I type faster and more accurately on chiclet keyboards (the type you find on most laptops), and cheap membrane keyboards (such as the logitech k120) will do a job that's just fine even for a high end pc.

They're pretty nice for being a cheaper mechanical keyboard. And for the typing, everyone has their own preferences. Some people hate reds, others love them.
