Is it possible to OC a 9900K to 5.5 maybe even 6 ghz?

I have been wanting to get a 9900K so I can overclock it atleast to 5.5 ghz to maybe even 6ghz, but I need to see if you guys think it could possibly reach 6ghz with a 360mm liquid cooler. (I am thinking yes)

Seeing as the watercooling all-core OC record on the 9900K is 5.1Ghz, I doubt you'll get 5.5-6Ghz, my man.

But depending on how much liquid nitrogen you have laying around, you could surely go that far! Even 7.511Ghz far!

Long ago I read a claim that the theoretical maximum for SOI at not exotic cooling temps was somewhere under 6ghz which means it’s being pushed up against now.  Very old data though.

The claim iirc came about the time SOI was invented in the first place.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Windows says my CPU is at 6ghz sometimes

Does that count?

I would recommend that you download a cpu-z or cpuid hw monitor you can see al of the sensors on your pc there and figure out what could be causing it

It was a joke lol

Windows used to be notorious for reporting outrageous frequency
