well semi-modular gives you a lot of the benefits, but

id just grab the Neo Eco semi modular.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

I can't find a power supply I want that is in stock. Would a thermaltake 700watt power a 3700x. I will eventually upgrade, however, i would like to order the rest of the parts now and wait to get the new PSU. From what I have read that extra connector is useless.

You don't need the extra 4-pin.

What's your budget for the PSU?

I posted the wrong system lol. I reposted it and 100-140. I would like it to be at least 750 watts and fully modular. Also I already have the thermaltake, that's why i put it in there

I have two power supplies sitting around too, If i could sell those, maybe 160-200, which would probably solve my problems. I just don't think they will sell.

Odd. I have an X570 board and 5700xt( red dragon). Cpu 3700x. My 550 watt psu wouldn’t power my system. Would 650 be sufficient?

its not about the wattage. its about how good the powersupply is.

what powersupply do you have?

Hmm, the link is working for me. I'll post the specs in here, incase the link doesn't work again, however, I did just watch a video on why high watt power supplies are pointless. My old 550 watt power supply was a cheap rosewill one, which could possibly explain why it didn't work. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/WJV7YJ

CPU: 3700x

Mobo: MSI x570 gaming Edge

Ram: G skills ripjaws v 16gb 3600

HDD: WD 1tb

SSD: samsung 970 evo 500gb

GPU: 5700xt Red Dragon

PSU: Thermaltake 700w 80 plus certified power supply.

pick up one of these:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nNJtt6/antec-neoeco-gold-650-w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-ne650g

gamdias is 750w, not because you need it, but because the unit is very cheap atm.

By chance, do you have a quality one that is fully modular, or does that unnecessarily drive up the price and down the build quality.

You don’t need a 700 psu for your system you would only need it if you wanted to get an rtx 2080 and above and 550 would be sufficient gold rated of course and if you get a 550 psu you could save some money or get a better part for your build
