Wow, that's a reeaaaally nice looking ship. I recognize it now, it's been in a few pieces of concept art. I'm guessing the ships that are for sale now are probably going to be nothing compared to the number of different ships available upon the games release. That's partially why I'm not going to be buying any more ships on the pledge store, just building up a slush fund for ship upgrades/investments into the conglomerate, and buying new ships.

But if that's true, you can bet that they'll stop selling ships through pledge system close to the actual launch. Maybe even at Beta. I haven't heard any confirmation on when they'll stop giving pledge prices, as the pledge prices are discounted.

 

It might even have to do with the actual citizen population. Last I checked there were almost 4,000 slots available. When those slots are all finished, I don't think any new players can join until the official launch. Who knows if that also means that pledge ships will no longer be available. They've already removed a few of them from the store so I can imagine more will stop being sold as well. I mean, that's one of the biggest appeals to pledging for a ship, exclusivity.

I think the... Higher priced ships will be solely because of their price. I think it'll all come down to what the currency exchange rate is. As in... How much is our dollar worth in UEC now and when the game comes out. Cause the currency exchange rate doesn't make sense as it is. I think the method to buy UEC was $1 for every 1,000. So a gun costs around... 6,000 UEC or $6. There's no way a Freelancer will only cost 120,000 in game if a weapon can be obtained for 4,000.

 

But they have stated multiple times that whatever you see in the game you can obtain. So be careful, bromeo. I'll fly with you if you want cause your ship's gonna be a target for tons of pirates.

kinda make sense id expect a freelancer to be somewhere around 1,500,00 UEC. I would like the currency to be very realistic.

That's correct, yes. That's why I'm buying as much in-game currency as I can afford. I may possibly invest in a Constellation for making a buck on the side, but it depends. It has been confirmed that sometime before launch, ships will stop being sold through the pledge store. Great point about the exclusivity though, I'm very happy with my Avenger, in part because it's one of the less popular ships to pledge for, compared to a 300i or an Aurora.

Yeah, I'm doing the same. Two slush funds to purchase two more ships. Likely a Cutlass and a Hornet or 300i series.

 

Then I'm spending around 20 - 30 bucks a week to buy USC and stockpile it. Last thing I want is to be broke with no fuel.

I was reading a lot of the WIP about the Freelancer, and Conestalation ship to help me choose which I would like to run.  I decided on the Conestalation for the many upgrade options since I want to try a bit of everything.

I picked the Avenger because it has enough firepower and storage to play a variety of roles such as bounty hunting, escorting, and support role. I want to play as a mercenary and figured this ship would work just fine.

Good luck finding another 20 players to man the ship. You probably wont even be able to fly it on your own without another few players.
