How you eat a mango?

Slashfunk

Do you eat your McDonald B U R G E R with or without the peel?

Personally I eat mangos without the peel. The outside is - IMO - kind of bitter.

I cannot handle mangos. They have urushiol in their skin similar to poison ivy. I am very VERY allergic to both. I can eat the flesh as long as they have been skinned and rinsed before being diced.

But do you eat the peak (personally?)

A lot of people are allergic to the inside of the skin.  Also it’s tough and rubbery.  Most of the time they are skinned and depitted.  This is hard with mangos so usually they are also cut into pieces.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

To me it is not the inside of the skin but the skin itself.

The skin is thin and you may be even more allergic than even many allergic people.
weird things cause allergies.  1/3 of people are allergic to nickel to some degree for example.  The effect varies though.

My understanding is it is strongest on the inner layer of the skin itself.  You may find it to be the worst part.

Urushiol allergies are no joke. Skin of mangos have urushiol in it. It is the same shit that makes poison ivy and poison oak itchy as hell. unforunately for me it is like I get blisters and puss boils even after cleaning it off my skin with soap and water 2-3 hours later. If I don't know it was there it is like a severe chemical burn. I have inhailed fumes from someone burning poison ivy and got sent to the hospital and needed a tube in my throat to breath. Yes, I am VERY allergic to it.

Holy cats!  I would call that “super allergic” myself.  The symptoms I heard about were mere burning and redness on the lips with upset stomach.  It was enough to make me avoid mango skin.  Makes me kind of curious how reactive the OP is to poison ivy.  Some people don’t react to mosquito bites at all, and some people who are bitten a whole lot develop resistance.  This happened to me when I spent a whole summer in the boundary waters canoe area where the mosquitos are so thick one had to wear a head net not to keep them from biting you but merely to not breath them in.  Lasted about 6 months.

Yeah it is really bad. I can handle mangos but I absolutely must wash my hands vigorously under hot water for 5 minutes. Poison ivy I can do the same. If there is anything on my cloths, I must change my cloths.

Old adage for some of you folks:
"Leaves of three, leave it be."
"Hairy vine, no friend of mine."

Helps you point out poison ivy pretty quickly.

I really like Honey Mangos

Honey Mango - Ataulfo Mango | National Mango Board

Now with these, you can slice and eat them without the skin.

but you can also squash them and bite the top and drink the mango pulp

For some reason for me when I eat fresh mango it makes my tongue feel fizzly like a soda, which only recently I learned wasn't normal. No lasting effects though, it just feels carbonated.
