No audio from output jacks - MSI b450 TOMAHAWK MAX problem

Hi!

First of all, my system:

Ryzen 3600

B450 Tomahawk MAX by MSI

So suddenly all of audio outputs on my stopped working.

Only thing that i hear is hissing..

It was all fine yesterday so that's weird.

HDMI audio and my bluetooth dongle works fine.

Troubleshooting that i already done:

  • restarting pc couple of times (sometimes works lol)
  • reinstalling realtek drivers

Any ideas what to do?

Coronabreak gaming session ruined by this stupid problem... Im literally sad...

Hmm, I'd check to see if there's a short circuit somewhere... in case you accidentally dropped a little screw or something when you built it. Otherwise, it's time to contact either the retailer or manufacturer for an RMA or replacement, depending on how long you've had it.

After having a search around it sems that for some people there is a problem with the Tomahawk and Tomahawk Max audio, especially with the rear audio rear jack. It is just static and poping. Fix seems to be RMA/replacement for some, others go for a sound card. Although I did find this post https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=333237
