i personally like the msi gaming edition, it has a backplate and the fans go backward for dust removal on bootup :)

I went with the lightning simply because I really really liked the way it looks. Also FYI it gets knocked for having Elpida memory but the newer batches like the one I just got last week are now shipping with Hynix memory.

Gaming Rig: Asus Z87 Pro, i5-4670k, EVGA Supernova 1000 P2, Corsair Carbide Air 540, NZXT Kraken X60, G.SKILL Ripjaws X (4 x 8GB @ 2133), 2 x EVGA GTX 980 SC, Samsung 850 Evo 500GB, Samsung 840 Pro 256GB, 2 x HGST Deskstar NAS 4TB 7200rpm

Plex Server/Couch Gamer: Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5, i7 4790k, Corsair HX750, Fractal Node 804, Deepcool Captain 240 AIO, G.SKILL Sniper Series (4 x 8GB @ 1866), MSI Lightning 780, Samsung 850 Evo 500GB, HGST Deskstar NAS 4TB 7200rpm.

It really just comes down to EVGA Dual Classified vs ASUS DCUII this generation.

I got both cards, but I got the DCUII for 489.99 on sale, and the EVGA for 519.99

My ASUS card overclocked like a beast, got about an extra 220mhz easy, so for bang-for-the-buck I would give it to ASUS, but my overclocked EVGA 780 has been running nice n cool in my brother's rig with 0 problems.
