[Unofficial LTT] NZXT H440 Owners Club

Hi Guys,

Finally managed to find the time to do a proper post about my H440 rig! But first a little background!

So I got my PC around 3-4 years ago now and it was ur classic cheap as hell (£275) pre-built "gaming" PC! AMD FX-4170 and a AMD HD6450, all I needed to play minecraft at 45 FPS on max settings and thats what got me into PC gaming! I quickly realized that I much preferred a KB & M to my Xbox 360 and from then it took off!

The only remaining parts of my original rig are the HDD and the RAM! I am very happy with where its at and with the recent (1month ago ish) acquirement of a 970 I am hoping not to have to spend that much money for a while now just enjoy gaming!

Specs:

Intel 4790k @ Stock Speeds (4 now ;) )

Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming @ Stock Speeds (again 4 now ;) )

Asrock Z97 Extreme6

Corsair H100i (Specter Pro Blue LED's in push, got some matching gelid wings 12 coming to match the 140mm)

Corsair RM650

Hyper-X 120GB 3k SSD

Segate Barracuda 1TB HDD

NZXT H440 Black / Blue (OMG I LOVE THIS CASE, and I have a custom PSU facia I will post a review here some time)

Front: 3x Zalman 120mm fans intake (soon to be 3x gelid wings 12 aswell!)

Rear: 1x Gelid Wings 14

Top: 2x Bitfenix Specter Pro LED Blue (2x Gelid Wings 12 one the way!)

Peripherals:

Keyboard / Mouse - CM Storm Devastator Combo

Screen - Benq G2750

Speakers - Dell A125's

Headphones / Mic - Skullcandy Hesh 2.0's & Cheap eBay Mic!

Here are some pictures ENJOY! (excuse bad iPhone 5 quality + its dark!)

welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

it'll be fine, but the top as an intake means the air into the case will not be filtered

(there is no filter in the roof), as why many use this as an exhaust position.

Ty for the reply :) will i be fine then using it as exhaust with all stock case fans?

do they accept refunds :)

trade my old one in for a new one :D

None of the changes are worth that kind of hassle even if they did.

You're both wrong. The more restrictive vents of the original H440 creates a much stronger wind tunnel effect, which not only negates the advantages of larger vents, but actually exceeds them by forcing air through the system much faster preventing warm stagnant air from building up thereby drastically improving temperatures. So while the original H440 would keep your CPU/GPU sitting at a nice and cozy 50.0c, the H440v2 will, unfortunately, drive temps up into the high 80's.

I could, but just take my word for it; what reason could I possibly have to lie about basic physics.
