There will probably only be a marginal difference

just a question where is your aio in your system, is it in the front as intake or a top exhaust ?

actually that would make a big differance, why do you think people use blower design coolers in smaller builds ? just think with an aio as exhaust and a blower gpu there probably wouldnt even be a problem if you only had 1 120mm intake, where as if you had an open air gpu and cpu air cooler, just think, lets say a constant 60 degrees is blowing into the case from the cpu than add the constant 70 plus degrees from the gpu blowing into the case so you need good airflow to get that hot air out. if you had an aio as exhaust and a blower gpu there would be essentially no heat actuyally in the case because it would all be going directly out the case.

The only heat in the case will from the GPU which will then be exhausted via the back 140 or through the grill in the pci slot

And I mean an open air design card by that, the reference design cards as you say will exhaust basically nothing into the case as the cooler is enclosed.

yes thats what i mean when i say blower design will put no heat into the case, my strix 970 pumps heat into my case and my internal temps get quite toasty in there when gaming. rough example i usually get 75 degrees at around 55 percent fan speed. i took off the fron panel i instantly noticed that the fans on the strix took way longer to turn on and after they did the card stayed around 68-70 at 45-50 percent fan speed, so pretty big difference from removing on panel

Here is my white NZXT H440 build that I completed back in January, but was too lazy to post. The purpose of these parts were to have a clean aesthetic (black and white theme) looking interior. I could have opted for a more bang for buck components, but I am happy about how it turned out. I just need to learn how to cable manage a little bit better. Considering buying sleeved cables, but just can't justify the cost for cables at the moment. Also I feel like a noob in terms of utilizing all the features of the sabertooth mobo and the rig itself. Can anyone recommend me a link to explaining some of the potential things I can do such as setting fan curves using the mobo, corsair link, optimizing it, and maybe slight OC in the long future. Thanks everyone  :D

To match the mobo I would go with the black/red, but the black/blue is still a nice colour combo

Currently I have a X61 in the front as intake and a X41 with a G10 on top with one 120mm fan both exhaust and a 120mm fan at the rear for exhaust; any advice on how to move my radiators and fans around for better air flow.  I have tons of spare fans laying around so fan's wont be a problem.  Thanks for any advice.

I would put the x41 at the rear as exhaust and the x61 as top exhaust, then have the front 3 as intake

Can someone post pictures of the modding done to the chassis while using an Asus Rog Rampage V Extreme (or any E-ATX board for that matter)?

I'm interested to see where the electoral tape is added or should be added (I don't have the case nor the board yet, so kinda hard to get an idea).

Step by step guide would be most welcome, if possible.

welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums.

there really isn't a guide, just simple common sense when working with electronics

(when you have the parts follow this script)

  1. remove motherboard side side panel
  2. relocate i/o harness
  3. remove the three rubber grommets along right side of motherboard tray
  4. install motherboard i/o plate
  5. insulate E-ATX motherboard back-side edge with 3/4" electrical tape (see picture)
  6. complete mobo install into case

Thanks for the reply, though I lost you at step 1 and 2 (the rest I understood).

Sorry it's been 13+ years that I last build a rig, been using laptops since then so a lot of things I feel nervous about.

If you don't mind, could you illustrate it on this image. rampage-v-extreme-review-board.jpg

If you flip your motherboard to the same orientation as the one in the picture, you will need to put the tape down the underside of the same edge that SATA ports are on.
