Can't decide between these combos? Plz help

So I'm starting a build right, here are the specs.

The other day I was scrolling through micro center and noticed these two combos.

 

Come on now these are some pretty insane deals, and it's just what I was looking for, the Ryzen 5 1600 AF has 6 cores and 12 threads, while the Ryzen 7 2700X has 8 cores and 16 threads. Is it worth the buy? Should I replace the current mobo and cpu in my parts list to accommodate for this combo?

Any chance in the future you might upgrade to a real graphics card and play demanding stuff? Or you plan to play like esports games or fortnite etc?

You can't buy R7 2700X separately rn but it's pretty much the same performance-wise and price-wise as R5 3600, that with Asrock B450 Pro4\M-AC and WD Blue 3D 500GB SSD will cost you about 320$, maybe a bit less at Microcenter, no need to go for that bundle with garbage-level motherboard. As of SSD, SN750 are faster, yeah, but you wouldn't notice the difference and motherboard are more important anyway.

just esports gaming, I'm not really looking to get into high demanding games at the moment.

So you're suggesting I stick with the ASRock b40m steel legend mobo and the Sn750 ssd with which cpu?

Oh, i missed that you had SN750 and ASrock B450M Steel Legend already in the build. Keep that motherboard, and again, if it's just for gaming, WD Blue 3D SSD would be just as good, and it's cheaper. As of CPU, keep R5 1600 AF, it's good entry level CPU, especially with this price, if you want smth faster than go for R5 3600.

Alright, so just to make sure you would recommend keeping the steel legend, and the ryzen 5 1600 af. But switching from the WD Black SN750 to the WD Blue 3D SSD? This is what I had planned in the begging (apart from the ssd change). Thanks for your input!

Isn't the 1600 AF a lot cheaper though, and as far as I'm concerned it's the same relative performance no?

It's 100$ at PCPP, where do you see that ? Or rather it's 100$ at your screenshot, i can't find 1600 AF at PCPP myself altogether.

but, since it comes with a mobo combo I might as well just use the combo at micro center. Here's the link.

Checked a few locations, it's 165$, same as 85$ CPU from Amazon + 80$ motherboard from MC, not to mention that this Gigabyte motherboard are meh.

It has all the important stuff I need, and M.2 slot (with a thermal gaurd) and support for the ryzen cpu I'm getting. Also the ram is compatible as far as I can see. So do you think getting the combo is good? It'll save a bit of money and the mobo looks a lot better than the ASRock PRO VHD or anything other than the steel legend.

circling back to the ssd factor of this build, you were recommending for me to get a 3D drive instead of an M.2. You recommended the WD Blue 3D correct?

Well, microcenter doesn't have the B450M steel legend. So I'm going to have to do the purchasing on amazon instead. Which is a hastle since I live close to micro center and can just pick up the parts from there. Also on amazon the 2600x are now where as cheap as the ones on microcenter. Should I just get the steel legend on amazon, and the cpu plus ram on microcenter? Also I'm looking to get the PSU and case on amazon as well. I will share a ss of my cart as of now on the two websites.

Also, because of this should I just go to amazon for the 85 USD Ryzen 5 1600 I was talking about earlier, to save an extra 10-15 bucks?

Ryzen 2600x comes with Wraith Spire cooler,  the 2600 and 1600AF come with the Wraith Stealth .

So if you're gonna use the stock cooler, they're both decent, but the Spire is a bit better, more silent

 

The 1600 AF is technically cheaper at 85$ (MSRP), but you'll probably have difficulty finding it in stock at Amazon, and third party sellers on Amazon may have it at around 95-100$  PLUS shipping (in some cases)

 

As long as you go to Microcenter, buy as a set and save 25$ by buying mb+cpu+ssd at the same time.
