Does anyone know If theres an Ultrawide True 4k Monitor in the works?

xXWickedXx

I have an ultrawide monitor now and i got a new rig basically i have an i9-9900k, And a 2080ti but im still playing at normal ultra-wide resolution (2560-1080)

ive been waiting and waiting and relentlessly researching monitors but the only Viable 4k Gaming monitor on the market seems to point to the:

 https://www.amazon.com/Swift-PG27UQ-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B07F1VGGLK/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1V5284AY8WZSW&dchild=1&keywords=asus+rog+pg279q&qid=1584738653&sprefix=asus+rog+pg%2Caps%2C135&sr=8-6 Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ

but my issue with this monitor is its too tiny for me. I like my monitors bigger like in the 34" range. Is there an ultra-wide thats literally just a 4k ultrawide in the works yet that anyone knows about? Or even just a big 4k monitor thats TRUE with a good refresh rate?

Last time i checked it was either 4k or ultrawide. The only median is 1440p i think (when it comes to ultrawides, however i could be wrong pls dont flame me : ^ )

I think 3840x1600 is the closest we have to 4k ultra wide monitors.

They come on 37.5" monitor's so they're quite large.

I use a 3840 X 1600 Ultra wide and as far as I am concerned that is all currant high end hardware can handle on AAA games.

There are 75hz versions for around $1000 and 144hz versions for around $1800.

At that resolution I do the Shadow of the Tomb Raider bench averaging 105 fps on Ultra preset.

RDR 2 bench using Hardware Unboxed setting averages 88fps.

AC:O on Ultra averages 65fps. I played it at a bit lower settings and got around 80 average.

That is with a 5.1ghz six core and a FTW3 Ultra at 2070mhz most of the time.

I am going to stick with the resolution and see what improvement next gen card have to offer.

I also run a B9 LG OLED with a 2080 ti and it will be running at 120hz by the end of the year. I don't think even a 3080 ti will avage a 100 with the settings I like but here's hoping.

Samsung CRG9 does 5120x1440 at 120Hz.

What do you call "true 4K"? Becasue there is no "true 4K" that's ultrawide...

The above is basicallly it. More than 4K horizontally, and then some cropped off vertically to make it ultrawide...

Im not super knowlegable on 4k displays other than TV's and i know some TV's Advertise they are 4k but arent true 4k (mostly the cheaper tvs you can get on amazon and stuff) but i was for some reason thinking that ultrawide 4k resolution just didnt exsist yet it was only 2k was the highest you could get up to. im trying to get into 4k gaming without ruining my immersive big monitor expirence as well im trying to research all i can before i drop an arm and a leg on one ya know.

Anything that is around 4000 pixels wide is considered 4k. There's no strict definition because it's just a marketing term. Usually when people say 4k, they are referring to 3840x2160 resolution.

Would it even be possible to have the same sharp image as 3840x2140 if you had 3840x1600 i feel like it wouldnt be as stunningly sharp.

Yes. The sharpness depends on the PPI, not the resolution itself. If the monitors were the same physical width, but different heights, they will be the exact same sharpness.

Yep. As mentioned an ultrawide is just cropping some of the image away. Obviously there will now be fewer pixels in height, but the image looks exactly the same as on a 16/9 monitor of the same width, there's just less of it to see.
