PS5 Monitor?!

KHSZ

Hello bros, I've been looking for a new monitor to be capable of PS5/Xbox Series X.
I've settled between two monitors and would love to hear from you which one should I pick and why?

Asus Pros:

1) Has FreeSync. Since PS5 will use AMD hardware, it probably will support FreeSync.

AOC Pros:

1) Higher resolution.

Depends on what you want. If you have a PC with nVidia GPU as well that you want to use with the monitor, definitely go for the AOC.

On the other hand, if you have an AMD GPU and don't mind the lower resolution, go for the Asus.

I'll just use it for PS5/Xbox Series X

Probably the AOC.

I can't be sure if PS5 for Xbox will support FreeSync or if you will care about that.

It depends. The IPS panel on the Asus monitor would look better color-wise but the resolution is lower than the AOC monitor, but it has a TN panel which sucks for color reproduction. Personally, I favor resolution over panel type, but that's me.

Both should have some degree of freesync support, but I think any issues will more likely be down to whether or not monitors will support the implementation the consoles will be using. Neither will have displayport, so it'll come down to how buggy or otherwise freesync via HDMI is on the monitors.

If you're going to use the monitor only for consoles, there's no proof that the ps5 will support 1440p.

Thus with your budget I would choose a 1080p 60hz monitor, preferebaly with IPS or VA panel.

Wait till the actually announce the release of PS and Xbox, or even till they are released. By then new monitors will come out, prices will drop etc.
