Can I use Ryzen 7 2700X with this MicroATX's integrated GPU? (and with Linux)

I'm buying a Ryzen 2700X. I don't want an APU because I prefer more cores instead of an integrated GPU. Therefore, I want to know if I can use the Ryzen 2700X with this motherboard's GPU:

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350M-DS3H-rev-1x#kf

According to the website,

GIGABYTE motherboards provide native 4K support with integrated AMD Radeon® Graphics via HDMI.

So it looks I can use the integrated ADM graphics card with my Ryzen, rigth?

Also, it has compatiblity with Ryzen 7 2700X? In the page it says it has compatiblity with the Ryzen 2000 series, so I guess yes, but I'm asking just in case.

I'm planning to put an 512gb SSD M2 NVME in it, 32GB of RAM (2 DDR4 SDRAM 16GB from Kingston), a GTX 1060 and a 550W corsair PSU. Can anybody see any problems in this setup? Any compatiblity issues?

It's important to note that I really need an integrated GPU, because the GTX is going to go inside virtual machines. And I'm gonna use Ubuntu 19 as the main machine. Will Ryzen 2700X work out of the box with the integrated GPU on Ubuntu 19? I guess integrated graphics are a BIOS related thing, not linux-related.

The 2700X doesn't have an iGPU and graphics isn't built into motherboards anymore. If you want video out from that CPU, you need a dedicated GPU. Maybe a cheap card like a GT 710 will do?

build looks fine, but '512gb SSD M2 NVME' and '550W corsair PSU'  are too ambiguous to say anything about. Do you have specific model numbers?

This means that it works with processors that already have Radeon graphics, not that the motherboard has its own.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

so why does the motherboard page says it 'provide native 4K support with integrated AMD Radeon® Graphics via HDMI'? And why it has an HDMI port?

The models are RAM 16 GB 1x16GB Kingston HX424C15FB/16 and the motherboard is ATX Corsair VS550 VS Series 110V/220V and I'm also planning to add a TP-Link Archer T6E pcie card.

ok, that makes sense. What is the cheapest GPU I can buy that decodes 4K video? What about 1080p? I just needed a good thing to visualize my VMs and possibly watch youtube inside of the ones that won't use the dedicated GTX

Because there are AMD AM4 CPU's with intergrated graphics that can supply image to this HDMI port and they mention the HDMI is v 1.4 or 2.0 so it can do 4K.

The 2700X doesn't have integrated graphics and won't display anything via that HDMI.

I would go for a step higher PSU, like a CX550. Also, definitely go for dual channel (2x8GB for example) memory for the added speed benefit.

Thank you, now I understand the graphics thing.

What you think of 4 HyperX Fury 8GB, 2666MHz, DDR4, CL16, Preto - HX426C16FB3/8 to give 32GB?

What is the cheapest compatible GPU that I can have to play the role of the integrated GPU the Ryzen 7 2700x doesn't have? One that possibly decodes 4K

Now I have seens what you wrote. You meant a 16gb dual channel memory? (2x 8gb)? Didn't know they existed.

A GT 1030 is probably the cheapest you should go for if you want true 4K decoding, but it depends on what you mean by that. Do you mean it has to actually do video decoding or do you just need it to display an image?

Anyways, GT 1030 or an old 2nd hand card would work.

Get something dual channel for sure. If you get 4x whatever GB, that will be two sets of dual channel.

Ryzen loves fast memory, but also dual channel for double the throughput.

There are tons of 2x8GB sets: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/memory/#xcx=0&Z=16384002&s=403000,403200,403600&sort=price&page=1

But 4x8GB will work too, if you need the extra RAM.

I wanted to at least be able to play 4K videos on the GPU. I've found that a GeForce 700 Series PY730GT12801G5 1GB have a really good price and in the wikipedia it says it can do 4K h264. What would you say about that?

And do you think the CX550 will handle everything I said: Ryzen 7 2700X, 512gb SSD, GTX 1060 + possibly GeForce 700 + 4x 8gb RAM?

I don't have experience with running 4K on GT 730 class graphics, I don't know how it will do.

Only GTX cards have NVENC support, which means the GT730 can only decode the video with its CUDA cores instead of ASIC meant for decoding. Also the HDMI port on Kepler cards like this only supports up to 4K 24Hz (or is it 30?) and DisplayPort is necessary to get 4K60. If you force 4K60 on HDMI, it will run with reduced colour space which reduces video quality.

I forgot one thing, don't know if you verified this. My motherboard has 3 pci connections. I don't know about these lane things, but I see that it has these configurations:

  1. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
    * For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
    * Actual support may vary by CPU.
(The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
  2. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
  3. 1 x PCI Express x1 slot
(The PCIEX4 and PCI Express x1 slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)

I suppose I should plug the GTX 1060 into the PCIEX16. Note that "Actual support may vary by CPU", but I guess Ryzen 7 2700x has it, rigth?

Now, will by GT 730 fit into the PCIEX4 one? It looks  like it has smaller capacity.

And there's a PCI Express x1 slot, I guess I can fit my wireless card here, rigth?
