Question about guitar fingers

After a bit of time practicing my fingers are killing me, but I gotta practice. How do you get around this? Batting gloves? thimbles? Gimme some ideas

Your fingers will grow calluses eventually. Just rest for a bit and keep going later.

It is, after a few weeks of playing like an hour a day there's just a bit of callous that works perfectly for playing. It's not like a giant dead thing at the tip of your fingers. It's the only way and you'll be used to it.

There's no real way of speeding up the process. You just have to keep playing and eventually your fingers wont be sore. I have some fine calluses after playing for ten years.

You could wear some sort of protection for your finger tips, but there's not much point. Your fingers will toughen up after a while. I have friends that cut their fingers when they first started playing a lot, making their fingers tougher with scar tissue.

Drummers lose stamina learning to first play the drums. Guitarists bleed. Shouldn't take long. Just keep shredding.

You just need to tough it out. You need the callouses to help the pain and to produce a better tone. As well as being able to glide across the strings. Do NOT do anything to your finger tips except tough it out. You have to build them if you expect to keep playing. Everyone who has played has went through it. You just have to deal with it and it is worth it. 9 years experience playing the guitar.

It's super normal especially if you've just started playing. The calluses are barely noticeable so don't let that scare you!

@nicehat Dab the tips of your fingers in some superglue? I just thought and tested it out, it works! :o

This works great too when you're starting. Another tip I learned was to use the oils on the outside of your nose to lubricate your finger tips.

I hope everyone is joking about the bleeding part lol. I don't want that happening to me. Cutting your fingers by sliding doesn't seem real, so I honestly hope that was a joke.
