Ryzen 5 2600x Stock voltage high?

Currently setting up a new pc for a friend and I've noticed that the stock voltage is going between 1.398 - 1.426v, nothing has been changed in bios.

This seems too high for me?

Specs are:

MSI B450M

Ryzen 5 2600x + stock cooler.

But the voltages seem too high for any cpu.

Can you try updating the bios if there is an update available

Just updated the bios and still the same, I've set a Voltage offset of -0.200v until I can find out if the stock voltage is too high

Those voltages are fine, but you can likely set a negative offset to reduce them in the name of efficiency.  And I'd imagine you can go greater than -0.200V.

is it under load? because for some reason ryzen has high voltage when idle but it wont damage the cpu if its not underload you can adjust it in the bios

The voltage is fine. It will boost up usually to 1.45v. Ryzen is safe up to 1.5v.

By the way, the 1.45 - 1.5 is for very short bursts (when it boosts for a split second), i would say anything sustained over 1.425 is approaching unsafe territory.

This is normal when the CPU settings are at their default. A core periodically boosts because it's tending to background tasks and to get to the maximum boost clock, the voltage is set higher to sustain the clock speed.

I've left it on a - Voltage Offset, left Aida64 running for a few hours and all stable.
