Should i build now or wait?

Go to solution Solved by LogicalDrm,

If you decide to wait, you might disappoint. Like if the new generation (releasing May-Sept) isn't going to be much of improvement or have big problems at launch. So depending on what kind of buy you are looking at. Is it full PC or upgrade. If latter, then waiting might be better. But if you are doing whole build, buying now or at next bigger sale event is better than waiting possibly another 6 months for next thing.

Hi!

So i was really close to buying all of the parts needed for my next build but something hit me and i got reminded that CES is literally in 10 days (pretty close).

And apparently there are some (rumored) cool stuff to be announced next week but my question is if waiting 2-3 months for some of the stuff to release is really worth it?. Like i don't have to build a new pc now but i have a big itch you know.

Do you guys think Nvidia, AMD etc will announce anything worthy?

I highly doubt anything is going to be released during CES. It's not really when they release new stuff. That happens, historically, in the summer months.

It really depends what you're building. If you're dropping money on a 2080Ti I'd just wait until the new series comes out in the summer. If you're building a budget system, it doesn't matter as much.

My advice is always the same: Unless there is a specific, impending product release with a known release date and you really want to use that product in your build, don't wait.

Waiting on the next generation of computer components is turtles all the way down. You could spend your entire life not building a new PC because you are worried about whether or not a better component is going to come out in a few weeks.
