Depends on game and graphics settings.

So yes and no.

Your CPU will be the bigger bottleneck for high refresh rate. You will be able to run 1440p at medium/high, depending on the game. I used to have a 4790k and a gtx 1080.

Can run 1440p but not with fps at 144f in some games unless you turn down the graphics settings.

That's the thing I think even a potato can run  144EEFFFPEEESSS, at like 2x1  pixels ;)

Not enough information to judge whether or not you can or cannot.

All we have is your specs. Which games do you want to play at that resolution and framerate? At which settings?

Even without buying a monitor, you can get a pretty good idea whether or not you can do so.

Simply launch the game you want to play, get rid of Vsync, unlock the framerate, see how high it goes. If it doesn't even reach anywhere close to 144fps at 1080p or some other resolution, tough luck.
