Bequiet Straight Power 11 550w sufficient for i9 9700k and RTX 2070 super windforce?

SwarlesBrkly

Title pretty much says it.

Additionally there's a corsair h115i pro aio with 2 top fans and 1 rear fan. Also 2 ssds (Samsung Evo 500gb and qva 1 tb)

I currently run a 1660 ti just wondering if I need to upgrade the psu?

Yes, it's sufficient even for i9 9900k + RTX2080 Ti if it's for gaming.

No it is not, at least minimum 650w.

A decent one would be a 750w

For sure. The 9700K uses up to 160W and the 2070 Super up to 230W.

The other items in a build don't use that much, so it doesn't add up too much.

The Straight Power 11 is a high quality model, with sufficient wattage so it will work for this build.

Wat.

9700k 5GHz consumes about 220W, RTX2070 Super consumes about 225W peak, plus something like 50-100W for other components makes that just about 500-550W, that's in stress tests, in gaming it'll consume way less and this PSU can be pushed for another 30% before OCP trips (not recommended but it's okay for short spikes). Same for 9900k + RTX2080 Ti, of course it'll consume close to peak power capability of this PSU in stress tests but again, it's way less in games.

Did you just write that????

the psu doesn't run onlu the cpu and gpu but all the other hardware included in the rig, (drives, fans, potentially rgb ect....)

ONLY!!! the cpu and gpu draw 230w and 250w= 480w

Do some research before writing arbitrarily comments

I7 9700 runs at 4.9 right now.. With vcore at 1.29v. It consumes max 180w when I stress test it. So I think I'm fine. I'm only Gaming and I'm not planning on overclocking the rtx further

Then you should definitely take your own advise and stop making a fool of yourself.

@Juular is correct, a great 550W will handle itself even if we'll be using most of it's capacity, 650W would be for peace of mind but not a requirement.

Source? how about my i9 9900 + 2080 Ti *actually running off a Straight Power 11 550W* Never managed to trigger it to shut down under full load.

So you are telling me that ur 9900k at 5Ghz+2080Ti and all the other hardware...... A 550W PSU is Fine?

EDIT: And yourself on this rig have a  beQuiet! Dark Power Pro 11 80Plus Platinum (1100w)

The computer is on the signature, it's the second one, with a locked i9 9900 BCLK'd to 4.74ghz all cores with a FE 2080 Ti.

Thanks Luna. That calms my mind :D I will go ahead and try it. I can still always upgrade if I feel like it's needed
