Help Me Choose Between Two Cases!

The two cases are the Montech Air 900 Mesh White and Fractal Design’s Meshify C White

I was originally going to buy the Meshify C, but I’m now having second thoughts after seeing Montech’s case. The price is cheap, and from what I’ve read, pretty good airflow too. I also like the design quite a bit. I was going to wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday and hope Meshify’s case price drops, but I’m not seeing any sign of that happening.

TL;DR

Montech’s case, overall at least, seems better on paper. It’s price is cheap too, compared to the Meshify C. Help me choose, please!

the meshify C is quite a bit wider which accommodates larger heatsinks but it depends on your components.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

I made my first build in the meshify c white and I still have it, I think that its amazing. It looks super clean and sleek, there is tons of compatability even though it is only a mid tower atx, it has great airflow and its superrrr easy to build and cable manage in.

The only advantage I can see is the Meshify C will be better for Cable management due to the bend in the Motherboard tray. As a result though, the Mehsify C cannot support up to E-ATX (i that matters to anyone)

The $63 case linked has the same 120mm front fan and 120mm rear fan as the Meshify C at a lower price, so there's not many downsides to it, if you like the look,

Montech Air900 Mech looks fairly nice for a lower a price and seems to provide good airflow. It really comes down to what components you are going to put into it now and the future if you did want to continue using it.

Here are some things I consider:

I'm not sure about the Air900 having a removable hard drive cage, but Meshify can be removed.

It doesn't look like it would fit a Noctua NH-D15 cooler, but Meshify can with low profile memory.

Doesn't look like enough room for a push and pull radiator, but Meshify has a removable part to allow more room.

A Newegg review said the front mesh material can get bent out of shape easily. Meshify looks like its all dented so it wouldn't be as noticeable anyways or some people (like me) don't like that type of style.

i think between those two its mostly subjective, functionally they both appear to breathe well.  The Meshify C looks a bit more high-brow and i think likely will continue to age well, but if you dig the looks of the Montech nothing wrong with it, its just a bit generic in my opinion, also the assymetrical (left vs right) fan placement on it could bug me if there isn't a very good practical reason for it to be as such

Montech Air900

you generally don't want huge openings to the sides of fans, in neutral of negative pressure air flow setups this can cause re-circulation around the fan (out exhaust side back into intake), and in worst case re-circulate some hot air inside the rather then extracting it due to said turbulence, causing fans to have to run harder then otherwise, be louder.  Can't say the top fans placement would for sure cause this, but i've seen similar in some odd case designs.

The top fans are usually offset in narrower cases so the radiator and fan clears most heat sinks on the motherboards. I  put some black tape over any mesh area around the intake and exhaust fans to reduce air recirculation. Many cases these days  have those options for 120mm or 140mm or other fan/radiator size options so there bound to be some open mesh area. It seems best to be using 140mm fans to cover as much of the mesh as possible. I even tape over the mesh at the back that was intended for the GPU air intake.

I haven't inspected the case up close, but after watching a video of it I might be worried about breaking the front panel. Most cases at first usually requires some force to pull off the panel until the plastic parts get warn down. It can depend on how durable the plastic and mesh.

The first time I remove the front panel on a new Cooler Master 690 or Deep Cool E-Shield I was worried I could break something, but it was solid.
