A moderator on the LTT subreddit is deleting posts critizing Linus for reccomending the Razer Blade

I posted to the LTT subreddit last night after bad support experience with Razer that I was upset that Linus continued to recommend the blade and give it so much screen time on LTT considering the huge number of issues the blade has and how bad Razer support is. This isn't only my experience, the Razer subreddit is full of complaints.

 

A moderator deleted the post almost a full day later without reasoning. After i messaged and questioned him he said it was off topic. I don't see how criticizing Linus for this is off-topic in an LTT related subreddit.

 

There was another post by a user with similar concerns, and over 100 upvotes, that was also removed.

 

I never made any false claims or anything regarding Linus being a Razer shill, because I don't believe he is, but I believe he needs to address Razer and the blade as he has so many videos on the channel about both that don't cover the support or hardware failure issues.

That's hilarious. The mods on here openly call Razer shit because they are.

I thought this might be a real issue till I saw it was reddit.  

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

As far as I'm aware, the LTT subreddit is entirely independent, and LMG has no affiliation with, or moderation of, that subreddit.

 

So yeah - that's not cool though. I disagree with his assessment, since you're not criticizing the sponsorship deals, so much as you're criticizing Linus himself since he personally is a fan of the product.

Agreed - if you don't know what you're doing, working on something like a PSU is dangerous. For someone skilled in working with that kind of electrical components, it may seem trivial - but that's because they're skilled and know what they are doing.

As for the subreddit :unfortunately, we're not in charge of that subreddit, it's ran by fans and not by the forum staff or LMG employees, so they can have whatever rules they want and there's nothing we can do.
