Hello guys!

I just started studying CS and to no one's surprise i need a new portable laptop. I'm looking to spend 500 euro or more if necessary.

My requirements:

 - 8th gen i5

 - 8Gb RAM

 - 256Gb SSD

 - at least 6h of battery life

 - weight: <2Kg

 - Full HD res

 - both 13 and 15 inch screens work for me

 - a good keyboard

Given that I live in Eastern Europe, Amazon.uk/.de are probably my only options when it comes to buying laptops at an adequate price.

Although I believe that any penny that isn't invested in my current gaming PC is kinda wasted there are some features that would make me splash more cash(up to ~700 euro):

 - AntiGlare Display (some classrooms don't have curtains atm :( )

 - Fingerprint Scanner

 - Backlit Keys

 - a Thunderbolt port ( I do know that I might be asking for too much)

 - Ram and Storage upgradeability

Got any recommendations?

Thinkpad X1 Carbon (probably used/last gen) or maybe X1 Extreme if you can find one for your budget (doubt you will but if you can, get it).

That's a bit out of my budget. I was saying that Im willing to pay 700-750 euro at most. Last time i checked x1s are pricier than that.

Which country are you from?

Need high sRGB display?

What you use Thunderbolt for? If you need TB3 I would suggest budget up to 1000 euro

I'm form Romania. I don't need sRGB accuracy and I'd use the TB3 to connect to more displays. A 300€ increase in price doesn't justify it for me tho.

Thank you for answering my call, almighty GeneXiS.

Thank you Nick. Seems like this one ticks almost all of my checkboxes. I'll wait for GeneXiS' two cents and then I will decide.

The only thing that I dislike about this option is the german layout. I prefer the English one but it would be just a minor gripe i suppose.

After looking at every option I came to the conclusion that the Lenovo e590 seems to be the best of the bunch. However I realized that a touchscreen would be really useful. The HP Probook x360 looks compelling from this POV but Im worried about the lack of reviews on yt and the use of cheaper materials. The "perfect laptop" for me would basically be a Lenovo e590 with a touchscreen. Is there something on the market that has similar features to the e590 and a touch display?

P.S. Im willing to increase my budget if necessary for that touchscreen.

It's not consumer rebranded business laptop IMO, not much different compared to average consumer grade

Ok. I take it that the HP Probook x360 has "average" build quality.

After some more digging around i found this on amazon:

https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B07L3LH4QN/ref=cm_cr_othr_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8#cm_cr_carousel_images_section

Is this a good deal? Does this laptop have any uncommon issues?

It is a bit pricier but the reviews Ive seen say a lot of good things about it.

It's a good model, but consumer grade which prone to more QC issues (HP consumer grade is slightly below average IMO compared to some other brands)

I have been looking for a competitor for the HP Envy X360 but I can't seem to find a good one. For instance Lenovo's options seem to lack upgradeability and keyboard quality from what I've read. Are there any other laptops I should take a look at before buying the Envy x360?
