How loud Is ryzen 3700x Stock cooler

Hello, how noisy is ryzen 3700x stock cooler? I do not care about noise during gaming. But would it be reasonably quiet while idle, photo-editing? Case is fractal design define r5. I do like the look of the cooler, and saving some money would also be nice. Thx

It's a fairly quiet cooler. Performs better than cheap aftermarket ones like the 212

How fast the fan is running may depend on the fan curve, ambient temps, system airflow, and how the cpu happens to boost. Whether it's too noisy or not is up to you. 

I recommend trying it out first. You can always decide on replacing it later if you think it's too noisy.

The wraith coolers are made by Coolermaster the same makers of the 212 and in a lot of bechmarks comparing the two and in cpu cooler rankings they are pretty much the same in terms of cooling capabilities. The wraith coolers are actually pretty decent for being included with the CPU. The standard wraith is on par with the 212 in most tests and the Wraith spire and max are better than the 212 by a marginal amount.

Techspot found, that a gammaxx200t performs a tiny bit better than a wraith prism. And that's a 15usd cooler with 2 heatpipes..

I have a Prism cooler on my 2700x, and it works fine but it's louder than a cooler with a larger fan. It also has a constant mechanical sound at higher RPM, the bearing they use might be very durable but it sacrifices in terms of noise. That said, the idea of a downdraft cooler blowing over the VRMs directly is better than many tower coolers, especially since my chip is the highest TDP one offered so far on AM4. The lower TDP on the 3700x may allow you to lower the fan curve though. I wish there were more coolers designed like the Wraith/Prism coolers that had a larger fan that was a little more quiet.
