This is truly gorgeous, too bad they had to sacrifice so much to keep performance in check because nVidia aimed too low on the DXR capacity of a 2060 and likely console implementation going 2021 onwards.

Uh, you do realize that that video has absolutely nothing to do with the RTX update that Mojang just announced for the Windows 10 version, right? The person who uploaded it was wrong to say that RTX is being used; its not. The shaders in that video are made by Sonic Ether for the Java edition of the game and can run on both Nvidia and AMD GPUs, regardless of whether they have DXR support.

^ This
This existed for months, some people on youtube are already using it. The only caveat is that you can only have access to it if you pay the author 10 dollars monthly on Patreon, and it requires the likes of GTX 1080 to run smoothly in 1080p.

I'm also pretty sure that is looks better than the official RTX update.

Spoiler

Check out https://youtu.be/9d8RgNVKO5E?t=483 to see this in action.

How does this compare to just using a shaders mod?

The video quoted below is of the SEUS PTGI Shader Pack on Minecraft (Java edition, not the Windows 10 crap)

Rily, why. Why are you like this? Why can't you find the right place to post?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Of course I am aware, that is why I said that looks good rather than the promotional stuff Nvidia shown.

And why it sucks Nvidia can't do as much of a good work because they have to spread out the game for every one and the RTX 2060 is underwhelming on the aspect.

DXR should have implemented to give a truly breath taking Minecraft experience and not more of the same.

Yes I am aware and it is far better graphically than the announced Minecraft using DXR Nvidia is promoting, this my point it's hardly something to be hyped because how hard they had to downgrade it to make low end cards capable of running it.

If there's no significant I've graphical different like shown of the video why even bother with it?

I disagree that it doesn't look as good. IMO they look about on par with each other (aside from artistic differences of course) when both are paired with a decent texturepack:

Interestingly, a lot of the methods they mention for how they're doing things are exactly the same methods that Sonic Ether has been using.
