AMD 3900 and Asus X570 XIII Crosshair Hero need memory recommendations.

I need (2X16) 32GB memory for a new build.

Any solid recommendations?

Thanks.

Getting a different board......

Any generic kit of 2 16GB 3000mhz sticks is fine.

Or 2 kits of 1 stick 16GB 3000mhz.

There is plenty of vendors out there.  They all give life time warranty or at least what I know of.  So that should be no worry that your RAM goes bad and your screwed ya know.......

What is your budget for the 2X 8GB kit ? Also do you want RGB ?

I mean there are soo many companies that build RAM,, at the end of the day its the same sh*T from China ,,,,,,,,,,,,, I would get the cheapest kit but if you need RGB the kits arent that cheap.... I just bought my mate a new rig and we got him Trident RGB 3200Mhz 2x 16GB for his Ryzen build  .... Were building the rig tomorrow.

Anything with Samsung b die.  You want as close to 3200 cl14 or 3600 cl16 you can get.

I would just get 3200cl14  and call it a day.  Just pick whatever ones you like. I prefer vengence pro rgb if you want the RGB as they have the best RGB around. But crucial balistix elite is nice for non rgb

Yeah maybe he doesnt want the light show.  Or maybe he has tempered glass we don't know.  If its a closed case with no glass then who cares,, just buy NON RGB and save money.

Sexy ass right you got there man.  You went all out 12 core monster with a good motherboard not a POS mobo.  Im worried about what everyone says about ASUS now a days and their VRM's sux sh*T and Gigabyte is better VRM quality and what not for overclocking and such.  Ive been Asus guy for almost 25 years,, none of their motherboards have failed me and I never got BSOD.  So youll be fine with your ASUS I tend to not want to believe their mobos sux compared to Gigabyte and what not.

Any kit of cl16 3000mhz+ of 32GB 2 stick config is fine. So just go for the cheapest you can find.

Also i would suggest going for the creation board instead. Or the cheaper Taichi board. Unless you really want to pay the Asus tax at the high end.

Here you go 32GB kit for 149.99  ..  Here is the link G SKILL RAM 16GB kit

RAM prices are going down like a popped ballon from the sky.  Because DDR5 is coming out in 2021 I believe.

B-die isnt made anymore and is irrelavant at these slower speeds. You can still get B-die, but nolonger the best for ryzen overclocking

He really doesnt need to pay the premium over the sweetspot of 3000mhz cl15/16.

Current ramprices has nothing to do with upcomming ddr5..........

Mostly cuz:

  1. We have had a memmory crisis starting in like 2017 not ending untill the winter of last year. Which is the actual cause of the memmory prices returning to normal. So yes this is regular pricing, not low prices.
  2. DDR5 is a year away for enterprise use and 2 years away from consumer use. There is nothing that uses it and its too far away to affect the market.
  3. Prices arent really going down much anymore.

Nah your good man.  I have seen benchmarks 3 triple lara croft,, each section or screen had same comp just different RAM ,, one had 2400Mhz and 3000Mhz and 3600Mhz.  The demo they the guy made shows exactly whats going on on each screen and FPS your getting in same in gamne situation.  There was a slight boost between 3000 and 3600 ,,,,, or even like I said 2666Mhz.  The thing is we don't know your CPU ,, AMD needs that 3200Mhz sweet spot as the frame rate difference in the video was like 2fps  5ps at certain location of the demo.  The 2666Mhz cant hang and the 3000Mhz was gettting whopped by the 3200 and 3600 ,, but really once you tighten your timings on a 3200 kit and overclock it to 3600Mhz.  For gaming AMD loves the RAM, Intel doesn't give a shit.  You can put 2400Mhz on Intel and your fine.  But ya ,, sweet spot is 3200Mhz no need to pay that much more for 2fps ,, that's sort stupid ya know.

I would get the kit I suggested best bang for the buck and sweet spot.  I mean 2666Mhz and 3200Mhz barely have a difference ya know.  Comes a time when RAM is doing all its can to dish out info to CPU and you can only do that at certain speed ya know.

Technically yes. But there is more to Ram than just pure speed. Like the timing the Ram runs in. Which can affect the latency to access the memmory.

Hence propper 3600 kits of cl16 usually costs quite a bit more than 3000mhz cl16 kits. Especially at higher capacities. For what you are doing, regular 3000mh is more than fine.

There is no reason to recommend 3000MHz kits when 3200MHz is just a few dollars more.

Thats a lie. In tasks sensetive to Ramspeed intel CPUs are hut just as hard as AMD ones.

No you arent. You will suffer frametime stuttering in a couple of titles. And in general your 1% lows will drop.

No reason to pay a few $ more when you dont gain anything by doing so.

By the same logic. Why get 3200mhz? 3600mhz cl19 is roughly the same cost. Why get 3200mhz?

Yes and also we have some 4000Mhz RAM out there but who cares.  By the time your done obsessing about RAM speed and timings DDR5 will come out and go up to 6000Mhz.

Then what ? you upgarade ? NO HELL NO <, cuz then 8000Mhz will come out.  See in computers industry prices always fall and new stuff comes out at all times.  So your always screwed you know what I mean.  So get the 3200Mhz for shure if you have AMD , and even if you have Intel grab the 150 dollar 32GB kit.

Its a 20$ premium over 3000mhz. Nor the cheapest of that exact same rated sticks.

Considering you arent gaining anything. Saving 20$ is very much worth it

Hmm do you really believe in gaming RAM ?  Im not trying to be a smart alec , I love you goldenlag you know that.  But ya they said the 9900k is a gaming CPU,, then AMD says the same thing.  then RGB RAM come out and because it has RGB its gaming ram ?  I personally don't think so.. Its worth noting these kits arent 100% to work at 4000mhz at the higher speeds and that Zen 2 chips halves IF speed above ramspeed of 3733mhz making the kits pointless.
