BF4 Player Appreciation month.

So DICE recently announced that they're going to be running a month long event to give back for their launch problems. During this time they've also stated that they're going to focusing on fixing the netcode to provide a much better experience in-game. Cool in-game events will be running such as community missions and they've also announced that they'll be introducing the much requested platoon system.

 

 

They've also announced that you'll get a free battlepack every day of February that you log into BF4. After logging a game you'll also be rewarded with another silver or bronze battlepack. They will be launching optional weapon shortcut packs, much like BF3, except this time they're for FREE! Non-premium members will be allowed to download the pistol and grenade shortcut packs, subsequently unlocking all items from the base game in those two categories. Premium members will also be offered "free" (still requires premium) DMR and Shotgun shortcut packs. Also multiple double XP weekends will be hosted during this month.

 

DICE will also be running 'Dice Development Talks' in which they can interact with the community in real-time.

 

Too little too late? You decide. I'm pretty excited for February though.

Any committed Battlefield player has long had everything unlocked. This isn't any consolation. A free expansion pack would be a consolation. The whole battlepack system is not just retarded, it's FUCKING retarded and pointless. A normal unlock progression would have been perfectly logical instead of this luck of the draw bs. Stupid ass lottery system for attachments that are all the same, that whole system is just insulting. 

 

Best thing they can do for us is just to roll out mantle.

This is pretty nice thing to do to make up for their errors. Wonder if they will do giveaways or make BF4 on sale during this period.

They're not going after the people that are dedicated to battlefield. Why would they? They are going after the people who bought it and are bitching about it.

someone people would want it so they can get into the air scene, when it is dominated by people with everything unlocked it can be very hard to start jet fighting, I found that out in BF3 when I bought it 6 months after launch. It's still more fun to unlock stuff yourself though.

 

I hope they will do some good events, I enjoyed bf4 less then bf3 and not even because of the bugs and crashes. It's still really good that they are fixing the netcode though.

I think that this is a really good move from Dice. People who stopped playing, will return, at least I will..... I see it as a compensation for all the bugs that the game has ATM. And.....F*ck RUST and CS:GO. I'm going back to BF4 from now on

The packs are optional. You don't have to use them if you don't want to.

The game is working pretty well in its current state, most of the glaring issues have been ironed out. It still definitely needs some netcode polishing though.

Well I used to be able to load servers, but I haven't been able to load a single one since last week. And even then, there's still all those core issues, most of which are related to netcode.

I think it means that you get a free one every "day" that you log on.
