128GB RAM with X570 ?

Hi guys, I made some research before posting here, but I feel like I got to a dead end. (sorry for my English).

I need the Ryzen 3900x with 128GB of ram. (threadripper is (far) slower in photoscan). Saw many benchmarks and I think this CPU delivers a good balance between multi and single core performance.

But I don't know what memory sticks to buy,

On The Asus / gigabyte / asrock site they say 128gb is supported. AMD told me in email that the CPU supports 128 RAM and it is up to the motherboard.
In ASRock "X570 Taichi" and Asus PRIME p memory support list there is only one this stick 32gbX1 officially supported: "CT32G4DFD8266.16FB1", a crucial future memory,  which should be this one here (anandtech news), but i cant find it to buy yet.

^Can't find where to buy this,
Asus support via Email: They don't know what is going on with their board as far as what 32 sticks officially works, they didn't check that area yet. Other vendors didn't answer me at all.

Does anyone try 128 GB with any X570 boards yet?  Can't get a straight answer from asus /gb / msi / asrock

Thanks : )

its not released yet.

Thanks
Tbh, If there was a release date for this memory I would just wait, but without one I can't plan my upgrade : )
Was hoping anyone tried to throw other 32GB sticks on one of these boards and could share what happen

I dont think 3rd gen on X570 needs those silly tall sticks, or maybe it can't use them at all. I remember 3rd gen on 128GB memory means using 4 dual rank 32GB dimms, so standard height ones. Need further checking.

32GB ddr module is very dense, not a lot of people in the consumer market would want it, so chances are those module won't be as popular as 8 or 16.

There are some modules in the server market (ECC Rdimm) where 32gb module demands are high.

unfortunately rdimm is not supported in consumer motherboard like x570 or even threadripper.

True,

But I can't see why Asus doesn't just pick up this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V6KDGT5/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Test it on the MB, and make it work. considering both they and AMD state that this combo support 128GB...

Why support a memory model that has not even released yet to the public
There are Gskills sticks as well

Asrock validated their "Steel Legend" board to support relatively cheap 32G Samsung 2666 DIMMs ($154.36 each). You're not going to get gaming build CAS latencies though (CL19).

Validation list: https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X570%20Steel%20Legend/index.asp#MemoryMS

Amit, luckily I got my Ryzen 3900X (I pre-ordered after it sold out). I also bought a ASRock X570 Pro 4 MB. The website said that the board had a capacity of 128GB, and so do the sellers, but when I got the manual (and online) it said it only supports up 64GB. I came from a i7 6800k, with a X99 Taichi mother board with 8 memory slots that I filled with 16GB sticks, which gave me 128GB. I looked for a 570 board with 8 slots, but none were found, at least in my price limit. I wrote ASRock to see which was correct and they sent me back a chart that the motherboard did accept 32GB sticks, but they only tested the CT32G4DFD8266.16FB1. So I guess it does supports 128GB? The good news and my three biggest hog programs I use, is my DAW (Cakewalk), iClone and Magix Pro X. I put in half the RAM from the old motherboard, and the Ryzen 3900X is such a great processor, that I don't think I really need the extra 64GB now. This CPU is the bomb. My DAW shows no straining at all, I can barely see the activity on the 24 threads. It could be me but my audio sounds cleaner, and when I render my iClone projects, it renders 10 minutes faster for every minute, or almost 2 hours for a 10 minute video. When that 32GB memory becomes available, I might just buy it to max the memory out. But as of now this system is really out performing my old system with just 64GB. If you don't have any 16GB sticks, I wouldn't buy them if I really want to max out to the 128GB RAM, but the 64GB RAM is working great because this processor is so fast.

Amit, I was waiting until Amazon got some new Ryzen 3900 CPU in, and asked for a email. At 10 PM, I saw I got a 8 PM email that a new batch was is in, I clicked, they were all gone. So I decided to pre-order. After a few days they said my CPU will be shipping on a Monday, I got a shipping notice, but Amazon, never showed them being in stock, except for those who grabbed them all up to see over $800, not $499; Ebay also. I'm glad I pre-ordered now, because I didn't know it takes 6-9 months to completely make 7nm, CPU. I thought it took a day or less.
