That's a PS/2 port, it does not supply audio output. It's for mice and keyboards- outdated as of now

That is a PS2 port, its an old-school connector used with Mice and Keyboards. It is not an audio port.

No its not! I wish my board had a PS/2 port.. Asus forgot it for some reason.

Have to use an adapter that has issues with multiple specific keypresses...

It initiates earlier during boot. Some claim they have better response times as well.

However hot plugging isn't recommended and its more difficult to insert.

The reason why high end board still keep a PS2 port is a matter of perception.

On a USB keyboard, the CPU keeps pulling the keyboard every few microseconds asking “is anything pressed? Is anything pressed? What about now? You sure nothing is pressed?”

with a PS2 keyboard or mouse when an action is performed by the user the CPU gets interrupted with “god has issued a command”

silliness aside, there is a theoretical benefit in terms of latency to the latter, although modern keyboards and mice support extremely high polling rates rendering it a moot point.

a tidbit, the PS2 port is named after the IBM PS2 computer, but its proper name is a mini-DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung)

AMD Ryzen 3950x under a Noctua D15S, 32 Gb G Skill FlareX 3200 DDR4 running at 3200 CL14, Gigabyte Aorus Pro 570 Wifi, Gigabyte 2070 Super hooked to a Dell U2718Q 4k HDR monitor & an Acer 1440p 144hz IPS panel of some kind, an Inland 1 TB M.2 PCIE 4 main drive, a Samsung NVME M.2 250Gb, WD Blue 500Gb  and 1 TB SSDs, Corsair RMX750, Rainbows and butterflies...
