How far can you overclock Ryzen 5 2600 to with a custom loop (360mm radiator)?

How far (estimate) can you overclock Ryzen 5 2600 to with a custom loop that has a 360mm rad?

Maybe 4.2ghz unless you are pretty lucky.

 

Ryzen 2000 series generally hits a hard wall at 4.1-4.2ghz.

I don't think you'll get more speed with a custom loop over something like a 360 AIO.  Do you have your CPU running in a system already?  It's not a direct comparison, but I only saw about 100MHz more speed going from the stock cooler to an AIO.  It takes an abundance of cooling to get much further than what the CPU will do on air.

I would say that you have to go sub ambient to really get any more clocks with current Ryzen chips.  They just do not scale well with lower temps, even with dry ice you generally wont get more than 5ghz.

If you want a custom loop for the looks then go for it, but if you're doing it because you want more speed out of your CPU then you're going to disappoint yourself.

I was personally limited by silicon before thermals when I was doing Zen overclocking. This was on an NH D15. I hit 3.8GHz on a Ryzen 7 1700, I think I was at 1.45v. 3.9 was unstable when starting Prime95, even on 1.5v.

zen+ ranged from 4.2-4.3, doesn't matter if you slap a custom loop on it, it's a hard wall, best use the stock cooler and save money, hoping that changes with zen 2
