VR - 9900k vs 7940x

Which one would work better ? :/

I know it also consists of GPU, but do you think it will affect that much , the difference between those 2 ? :/

 

I use 1080ti.

9900k, because more cores is not better in VR

For VR, I wouldn't bother going higher than a 9700K, unless you want to or you're doing dev work. My vote goes to the 9900K.
