I just unsubscribed from YouTube again. Are the names this clickbaity on Floatplane too? I don't mind paying a subscription fee, but I'm sick of Linus resorting to manipulation.

That's not true at all. Plenty of popular channels use descriptive titles. Also LMG has their own streaming platform so they aren't limited by YouTube. According to all reports the titles are just as bad there, despite not being "restricted by the algorithm".

 

I get that it's a business, but for the past year or so there have been lots of shady tactics, and it feels less consumer-oriented. Last year I used to watch every video, even if I had next to no interest in it (including the advertisements), just because I knew it was a small way I could show support. Now I just get my news from less entertaining channels because I can't stomach supporting LMG.

each to their own i guess. i don't mind it i don't even read titles i watch the video if its something i'm interested about i keep watching if i don't care i change the video.

What's not clear? If the videos had clear descriptive titles on Floatplane, I'd use that instead. But they haven't when I've checked in the past.

not that much from last gen,from what i saw it had a 10 fps max increase,but also i have not seen anything performance related lately
