Planning on building the ultimate SUCC PC. Suggestions for parts?

So the goal of   T H E   S U C C   is to have a PC with silly or stupid components. The motherboard is what inspired this build, which is an asrock board called the N68C-S UCC. I'll be using my GTX 760Ti succ edition for the GPU, so there's those two parts solved, which leaves me with picking out the rest.

RAM: Mobo supports either DDR2 or DDR3. So probably some stupid combo, like a 256MB and 2GB set of DDR2, or 1 and 4 or 8GB of DDR3.

CPU: 4 core unlocked to a 6 core with 1 core disabled. 5 core!

Storage: I think the mobo supports RAID, so likely some utterly stupid RAID array of maybe an SSD and a HDD in RAID0

OS: Probably either windows vista or windows 8.0

Case: Maybe an old P4 compaq case to put everything in, and I can use the floppy drive header on the mobo

No idea for the CPU cooler or PSU yet, any suggestions for PSU/cooler or revising other parts?

Get a AMD Phenom X3 8600B, has 3 cores / 3 threads. Even more wonky.

Use MS-DOS.

My Rig:

CPU: Intel i5 2500k 4 Cores, 4 Threads @ 4.5ghz ( asus uefi regulates BIOS and adjusts it, there is no manual option, so I can't get any higher than 4.5, but I theoretically should be able to get higher once I get a voltage "changeable" mobo

MOBO: Asus P8Z68 LE

RAM: Kingston HyperX Predator 2133mhz ddr3 2x8 16GB

GPU: GTX 980 TI 150+ core, 100-150 ( I forgot )+ mem ( OC )

HDD: 500GB 3D MLC Samsung SSD ( soon ) + 2tb 7200rpm Seagate Constellation ES.2 SAS / LSI MegaRaid MR Raid/SAS Controller

CASE: Phanteks P350X

OS: Windows 10 64-bit / Void Linux

PERIPHERALS: IBM Model M 1984, Logitech G703 Mouse, Logitech G502 Mouse, Philips SHP9500 w/ V-Moda Boom Pro hooked up to my Sony AMP ( forgot model name, to lazy to find out )

Laptop: Gateway P-7805u FX

CPU: 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2c/2t

SSD: Kingston A400 250GB SSD

I mean the 3.5in floppy drive will be functional and I have a windows 7 laptop with a floppy drive to put stuff on, but DOS won't show off the succ's performance much

Oh i didn't actually know you intended to benchmark or game on the rig. In that case, Windows XP 32 Bit SP1 should do the job nicely since you can still play quite a few games ( that are DX9 or below ). Vista would also be a great choice. Make sure to get 32bit windows as oppose to 64 since floppy drives don't tend to work well with x64 for some odd reason. Also, since assuming if you decide to go with a 32-bit system put over 4gb of ram is my advice.

This board can unlock cores in for example X4's which often result in 5 or 6 core CPUs

I have tons of CPUs I got from a recycling centre, I bent all the pins back and they all worked afterwards. Send me some if you want to watch me suffer

I have TONS of HDDs, those won't be an issue.

at least one RAM stick must be accomplished using a DIMM to SO-DIMM adapter

Is it really possible to plug DDR2 and DDR3 at the same time? I've got old ASRock Mobo (burned) and it is mess too :-D. It has AGP and PCIe slot for GPU and I belive It has DDR1 and DDR2 slots both of them but in manual was that they can't to cooperate together. Basically You have to choose one of generation and stick with them.

IDK maybe it will work?

if not, then run all sticks through an adapter :D

Nope, only the DDR2 OR the DDR3 slots can be used at one time. You have to use either one or the other.

Yeah I thought so ? for fun this is that board.

I don't see why it won't work, its the same RAM just on a different PCB

Ah, much better. If you can make the computer boot Windows 98, Windows 2000, or MS Dos from a floppy disk you're golden.

EDIT:

Actually, do use a RAID 0 array with an SSD and HDD, but only for storage not for booting. Floppy disk for booting (If that's even possible? Never looked into but I don't see why it can't be done).

EDIT 2:

Ok, so never mind on the OS suggestions I striked out above unless you only want to run DOOM.

Seems like Windows 8 would work best to be compatible with modern games... AND because if it is at all possible to get a touch screen monitor working with windows 8 on this PC it would become weird^(weird power).
