500 on annual fees is fucking outrageous: Unless your employer gets this for you and you flight 3 or 4 times per year is not going to make sense.

What are the benefits?

  1. It's black.
  2. Crippling debt.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

You're missing who this is targeted for. It's generally not going to be for people with a $1000 or even $10,000 credit limit. It's for people with more money than sense who have $50,000 or $100,000+ credit limits on a single card or for the business person who takes 10 or more flights per month.

Do you need a true way to compensate?

Most people around my parts buy big ass trucks and drive like ass holes. Thats how they compensate for their short comings.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Not necessarily, with 2% value for airfare and an automatic $100 airfare credit, if you spend at least $500 on airfare in a year (only one/two trips) and put at least $20k on the card every year (a lot but really not that much if you use the card for everything), then the card pays for itself and you get all the other benefits for free.

Though the Chase Sapphire Reserve is a much better card IMO. It has a $450 fee with a $300 automatic travel credit. Assuming you fly once per year that uses the $300 credit making the annual fee essentially $150 which is not much more than the $100 fee you'll find with most lower tiered cards.

So basically the AMEX Black for plebs (Not quite AMEX black but still "luxury")?

You know, on second thought, the fact that it is black should have tipped me off.

But yeah if you have to ask if it's a good deal it's probably not for you, so makes sense.
