7700k 212 evo

I plan on upgrading from an i3 7100 to i7 7700k and I have one simple question. Will my hyper 212 evo provide adequate cooling to the 7700k? I don’t plan on overclocking.

From what i’ve Seen it should be fine, if a little warm.

It will do on stock. Be warned about many flaws about the cooler though if you haven't already bought it.

Do you already own the 212 Evo?

 

If not then please don't buy it, there's better alternatives for this price point already including the newer 212X and 212 Black newer variations, the Evo is outdated.

 

Like many other pointed out the locked i7 7700 is fairly colder and is pretty the same thing as the i7 7700K if you won't bother overclocking, so you could just save up some cash here.

4Ghz all core turbo vs 4.4Ghz, price difference is usually.bigger than that

Literally your own review contradicts the "stock" statement. IT did 1.3V 5.0ghz on an 8600k while maintaining respectable (<80C) temps. If that's the case with the 8600k then the same or better is probably true for the 7700k which has 2 less cores.

At stock speed it should be fine.

 

If you plan on OCing replace it.

You can lower voltages manually to get lower temps, it might get bit toasty under load otherwise.
