Hello!

i will be building my first pc and altough i have made some research, i still have no idea what motherboard to pick since there is so many of them.i am also on low a budget so i cant really pick anything above 55 pounds.

i am going to buy a ryzen 5 1600,a rx 570,8gbs,ram 500w thermaltake psu and a 1tb hdd.the reason i am buying a ryzen 5 1600 is that in a few month i will upgrade my gpu to a rtx 2060/2070 or a rx vega 56/64.

if you guys could help me pick a motherboard for my build that is under the price of 55 i would be rather very greatfull!

thanks!

If it has to be under £55, maybe something like this, although what is your entire budget so we can piece something together for you https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/LLYLrH/asrock-b450m-hdv-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450m-hdv

i sadly am desparate since i have about 330 £ for the parts(excluding case and monitor)

This is the cheapest b450 motherboard right now in the UK. It'll do the job but don't expect to be overclocking much or have much features:

I'm confused, why go full cheapskate now (400 pounds for the system + monitor) when you are planning to upgrade to a vega or RTX soon which could easily cost more than the complete budget you have right now?

If you are going to ditch that 570 soon anyway, why not buy like a really cheap thing (maybe even 2nd hand) and use that until you get a nice gpu?

Tbh the motherboards suggested are one of the few i would even consider.

To keep it simple, with such system don't bother with A320 or a motherboard with no VRM heatsink, it will be crap and you will regret it.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Well if you are going to upgrade your GPU soon anyway, why don’t get yourself a 2200G for now, get better quality Mobo and psu, and have overall more money for your build.

Also zen 2 is rumoured to be released in June/July, that will push prices down from the 2000 series chips and maybe you can snag yourself one of those at the same time

A HDD can be had later on when you need the space. An SSD will benefit you a great deal. I would also see about going for a second hand monitor if you can to get a better deal.

He's just trying to tell you that in the long run, buying expensive placeholder parts costs you more.

Unless it's going to greatly affect your life, waiting until you can afford what you really want is a better option than taking 1/2 or 1/4 measures.

Well if the dates are correct which I mentioned that will be 2-3 months from now.

i know that buying a good part is better than buying a worser part then replacing it but i have waited 3 months already and i dont want to wait another 3

If you're gonna go for just 8 GB of memory, make sure you buy  2 sticks only if the motherboard has 4 DDR4 slots, so that you'll be able to add 2 more sticks in the future.

8 GB is just not enough these days, 16 is better for games.

If you have to go with a cheaper motherboard that has only 2 memory slots, then go for a single stick, you'll have around 5-10% slower performance until you buy a 2nd memory stick but at least you'd be able to upgrade to 16

I agree with the others in saying you should buy a 2200g or 2400g processor and forget about the placeholder gpu, just use the onboard graphics for now, you can still game on it and then you can get a better board for now and just add in your better gpu in a few months.

I wouldn't recommend thermaltakes' lineup of power supplies, as they are commonly reported to be unreliable. As for your other question, I agree with @NunoLava1998 on it. THe b450 pro4 is the mobo that I am using for my 2200g (soon to be 2600x) and it's definitely a good mobo for the price.

Current PC (Second Build) : CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (OC @3.8GHz, sometimes pushed to 4GHz) RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-2666 (OC @2733Mhz, sometimes pushed to 2800 for testing purposes)   GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX570 8gb MOBO: ASRock B450m Pro4 SSD: Inland 120gb HDD: 1tb Seagate Barracuda PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt 500w Lite Case: NZXT H500 OS: Arch Linux+ KDE Plasma [Desktop Environment] & Windows 10 Pro [Broken due to grub 50% of the time]

Accessories: Mouse: Alienware AW958 Elite Keyboard: Corsair K63 Wireless  Headphones: Samsung Level On Pro

Phone (waiting on arrival): Samsung Galaxy Note 9
