32 gig ram ... not enough?

Hey guys , I've got a quick question. For work i normally use After effects , photoshop , illustrator etc... whilst working with it i usually need to download /search for content on the internet and then i run out of  available memory. I use Corsair vengeance 32 gig 3200mhz (4 sticks)... Now i was looking to buy some new ram (64 gig 3200) but the price of ram is still through the roof ... Is it really worth it ... or should i just kinda cope with it for a while.

That completely depends on your financial status and what you consider 'worth it'.........

Nobody can tell you if it's worth it to you or not.

Well sure indeed. But 800euro + for some more ram seems a bit steep.

Yeah so you either want to and can afford to spend that much so that you don't run out of memory so often, or it's not worth it to you and you deal with 32GB of ram.

This is a decision you need to make.

Nobody here has any idea how much disposable income you have, your financial status, your job, your taxes, how often you run out of memory, how much money you make from doing your work, how much you time and money gain from having 64GB instead of 32, etc etc etc

To my knowledge the likeliness of a major price drop in the near future is slim. Now, to answer your question, about whether it is worth it or not, you first need to ask, "by how much is it slowing me down?" If you are doing this for work and have plenty of things to do, I would say that if it slow you down by more than 5% it is worth it to get more RAM, otherwise you can probably deal with it, though here is another idea if you have a free nvme slot use it for Optane, and use that Optane as RAM.

Well, unfortunately nobody here can predict the future either so it's up to you if you want to wait and see.

Are you using Google Chrome by any chance. If so, then that might be all of your ram problems.

Those memory are for your board where it only has 4 ram slots.

question...would buying a 64gig or bigger ssd and throwing the page file on it help if running out of actual ram? i know its not as fast but would work wouldnt it? it would be way cheaper then him buying more ram?

the reason i ask this..majority of stuff running like projects use both and when main ram is full will use page file till its full then you get the running out message...just like a game that had a memory leak..i use a 64gig ssd for my page file and thats because one game i played had a memory leak and ran out all the time..gave the page file its own hard drive and no more running out
