Seems compelling. By any chance can I join this organized outfit once I buy a ship when the game comes out? Perhaps we could have a military reservist role whereby you can primarily do trading and serve the military when in need.

Man that's just like Singapore's National Service LOL. Every able bodied young man at the age of 18 has to serve 2 years in the military here.

Wont be a requirement, basically if you like PvP even a little and are willing at the time, you can go fight, but if you don't then there's no need. But, that said, if we need more bodies to fight then we may well start picking the most willing out of the ones who chose to abstain. But, just like everything in the org, it'll be fluid, depending on how you want to participate and how much you want to participate

Probably just be the council/high council as they're more suited to answer for the org as a whole

Yes although you'll need to get the ship pledge with access to alpha and beta in order in apply.

What about a diplomatic group which works under LTT? There's a lot of hand shaking that went on with EVE, and I think it's fair to base the potential depth of SC to that. The idea would seem fitted to... A business firms sales team. Public relations, cleaning up messes from organization members, which will happen, as well as introductionary meetings for new trade routes or battle strategies. I guess the idea would be to serve more as a, as stated above, a public relations team to help the council. Then again, it would take a lot of trust and time to pick out who would represent the company on a small scale. But as an organization it's kind of like a business. Messenger is just a messenger. Wine and dine, then the "client" actually meets a council member.

Just running with ideas, lol. If organizations as large as LTT come out, it could easily start a pretty large war. Eventually I imagine there will be some groups or sub groups inside of organizations which exist purely for stealing/piracy. Be nice to not make enemies that might give and take a lot of collateral damage to the organizations.

I agree with this, I've seen pretty large orgs already starting to communicate with one another on their forums.

 

However I think it should still consist of people who have a deep understanding of the goals of the organization as a whole

Completely in agreement. In an organization this large with specific goals and one that is maintaining a hierarchy, it shouldn't be random people playing public relation officers, but who is best qualified to. I'd leave it completely up to the council to decide, and not a public vote. That's just my opinion though. I mean, they'll have to be fairly personable but also, as Jebex stated, they'll have to have a very deep understanding of the organizational goals and some involvement in fleet concepts. Trade could effected by this sub-group. Enemies will be made.

 

A sub-group like this, though they will not have anywhere near the power of a high council member, can easily effect the entire organization and how it's received throughout the SC universe. Gotta be legit players who are picked.

 

But! This just a running idea. There might not be any intention of a sub group in LTTC like this at all and for good reason. We're just humoring a thought for sake of conversation and potential practicality. Plus, you guys know it's fun to play space politics on small scale.

I have an idea for the piracy group. We could have an Official, Unofficial LTT pirate group of LTT members, but it is not connected to the LTT conglomerate. That way they could steal, and kill all they want, and we wont get in any trouble with any large organizations.

Well anyway a piracy group does not make a lot of sense in an organization that does not solely focus on piracy or criminal activity.

 

I think the "Mercenary" group listed on the diagram is great for people that mostly want to do their own thing, and that to have unofficial piracy subgroups is a lot more sensible.

An unofficial piracy subgroup would be more sensible, and we would be able to steal from the bigger, richer, organizations.

Just like if a person from country X attacked a person from country Y, the individual would not be representing his country in doing that and therefore it would not lead to conflict between X and Y. The individual would be held accountable, not the country.

WW1 started in a similar way to what you just described. 

 

While piracy might be fun it may tarnish are reputation with other orgs so I stand against the idea of the subgroup
