MSI B450 Tomahawk is in Tier B. So should I go for it?

Thanks for the list!

yeah, great mobo for the money

should be sufficient for your usecase

Hey guys! I'm new to pc building and I'm ordering my first parts ever.

I'm having trouble which Motherboard to pick. I'm thinking of MSI 450 Tomahawk or ASUS Strix B350-F

Any suggestions would be great. Thank you

Here's a list of my current parts chosen:

The one you have listed there looks good! The specific things I look for in motherboards that to me indicate good quality is how many fan headers you have available and does the PCI slot have a winged release. That motherboard has 5 fan headers by my count and the winged PCI release. 5 is a great number of headers, most I see at that price point have 3-4.

Trust me. They may not sound that important, but you will appreciate having the space for more cooling down the road.

that's not quality

if you're looking at quality, you should look into vrm's. that's where i mostly ranked my list on

Thanks a lot! I have a lot to learn about what you're talking about since I'm really new. Are you saying the current ASRock is good?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Actually the B450 Steel Legend is a really good B450 has the same VRMs as the MSI Tomahawk and better pricing. Was just released this jan.
