Don't think that's a great deal for that price. Do you really need a Threadripper, though? The new AMD CPUs will feature more cores and will run on less expensive motherboards.

That's kinda what I was thinking, but the huge discount had me interested. Lol.

Well, either way, the 3000 series is probably going to be a huge upgrade over my i5-3570k.

The plan is to wait for zen 2 + benchmarks.

 

I've lived for 6ish years with this 3570k... I can wait a few more months.
