Skype vs Teamspeak vs Google Hangouts?

ManOfDisguise

So I kinda had a problem since part of my friends use Skype(the ones i really dont play with that much if at all), then the new friend I made on Rust use Google Hangouts and another party on Rust on the server I play on uses Teamspeak.

I didnt want to have 3 programs and constantly switch between them. But I have had experience with all of them and here is my short feedback:

Skype - dont really have any issues with Skype. Though lately I've been using Skype much more for texting people than calling them so I take a Skype as more of a general communication program not just for calling

Teamspeak - im not too fancy of the interface and all the stuff there but its nice to have options. I think this is the most advanced one out of the 3 however again as I said i dont need all of that(only the server selection, settings would be just enough for me).

Google Hangouts - i think i like this one the least however thats not to say that its bad. i just dont like the whole interface and google + crap. free group video calls is a nice plus but nothing i would use really.

Hm I wonder how Razer Comms works now that I tried all of these...

Teamspeak for Its distinct superior voice qualkity/ bandwith usage. Makes skype look 10 years behind ( which is a lot today)

Havent tried ventrillo or razer comms, because ts came perfect.

Teamspeak destroys anything else for me.

Skype sucks at everything. Teamspeak owns at everything.

But to be serious, Skype really does suck. It takes up a ridiculous amount of bandwidth yet achieves very low call quality, it requires a subscription to have a video conference between more than 2 people, the program itself is hideously buggy and slow even on the most powerful of machines, the interface is completely clunky and bloated and the security exploits which exist for it are ridiculous.

TeamSpeak is highly customisable, versatile and capable. It can support a great many more people at a time and allows for communicating in a much more organised manner. It provides better latency and requires less bandwidth yet has a much greater audio quality. It can even be used for playing music.

Hangouts however is my prefered way of video conferencing. I find it the most stable and convenient.

Teamspeak for everything apart from conferencing, then I use Google Hangouts, I haven't tried Skype because I have heard bad things.

I use Skype because it is free and easy, but the quality is pretty bad and it is definitely not made for gaming chat. I would like to use Teamspeak, but that would require keeping a server up or paying for a server. Google Hangouts is like Skype, but with better quality, although, I don't use it because it is inconveniently always in an internet browser.

There are Plenty easy findable Free TS servers. Just hop on in big clan servers and theres always a deserted channel, and no one cares when they have 150 slots.

If not big TS servers price are countable in cents.
