First PC Build - Advice Appreciated

I'm planning on building a new gaming PC in the next month (will use for new games like Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out, plus Metro Exodus etc) to replace my gaming laptop as my main computer. I'll also be using it for graphic design work and a very limited amount of video editing. I plan to run two monitors with it, one a 4k monitor (to buy) and at least for now keeping my current Samsung Syncmaster 2443bw as a secondary screen. Based in the UK. I have a fairly good idea of what I'm doing (or at least I think so), and have swapped out parts etc before, but I've never built anything from scratch.

I've got most of the components down but could do with a few pointers, especially over what graphics card I should be looking at, and it would be good if an experienced builder could point out any glaring errors I've made.

What I have planned:

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING

SSD: Pioneer Internal SSD 512 GB M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4 2400 MHz

Power supply: Corsair TX-M Series 650 Watt 80 Plus Gold

Wifi adapter: I'll need one, a few options but I'm not too worried here.
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 275R Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case - Black

Cooling: I'm looking at either Corsair CW-9060033-WW H100i Hydro PRO or Corsair Hydro Series H55 High Performance All-in-One Liquid CPU Cooler, 120 mm Radiator. I am intending to overclock the CPU so water cooling makes sense but I'm not sure whether the 240mm is overkill.

Graphics card: This is where I'm really not sure. Looking at a ballpark of £350-450 for this but with all of the options out there I really don't know how to choose between them. I've been looking at this but I'm not sure whether I'm overpaying or if there are better options.

Additional bits: I'll be getting some cable sleeving, probably this and will need to get some thermal paste and perhaps cable ties. Any other small bits I need.

I'm looking at getting this monitor: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075CQ5Z8R/?coliid=I244GP9Y5NC99E&colid=2JYTD447GNFPJ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Is that a good choice for the price? I don't want to spend more than £300ish on this but I do want 4k and a 28" screen is the perfect size for me.
I'm ok for other peripherals.

Is there anything wrong with any of this? Any guidance on graphics cards in particular would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The best advice I can give from the get go is to use pcpartpicker.com, extremely useful.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I recommend grabbing the RTX 2060 instead, as it performs like a 1070 ti, (with 2GB less of VRAM) with raytracing, and is significantly cheaper.

Looking at around £1500 in total for the PC and monitor. Based in UK. I'm OK for keyboard and mouse.

Ram this slow will really hurt your Ryzen Chip. Go for 3200Mhz.

Also I think a 2060 is the best card for your budget, maybe a 2070 if you can find a good deal somewhere.

@LukeSavenije  Why not the stock cooler, or save the money and upgrade to 2600X?

  • 3 weeks later...

An update, it's now built (did it on Wednesday) - apart from the case I think I pretty much stuck to Luke's advice. Not overclocked it yet but everything is running smoothly.
Thanks again for the help!
