Is it okay to keep reinstalling OS to SSD?

Ryflick

Hi I'm newbie here, sorry if I posted this at the wrong place,

just want to ask is it okay to keep reinstalling Windows / other Operating System to SSD?
I mean.. like, try to clean install windows every 1 week or every 2 weeks?
Sorry if this a silly question, thanks

Why would you want to do that?

What are these for?

SSDs have a limited write life.  So in general you don't want to be re writing them all the time.

Yes, but the 860 evo for example has a TBW (terrabytes written) rating of about 2400...

I don't really get why OP would want to do this, but he should be fine...

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably

You would have to write a pretty sizeable amount of data every day to impact an SSD's life in a meaningful way. Reinstalling Windows even once a week wouldn't do a whole hell of a lot.

They go as high at 60 terabytes of read or write if not higher.  So no damage to the SSD, just pointless to keep installing OS every week, unless you have COCD or something.  Then do it by all means if it makes you happy.

Hey guru master flibberdipper as I said in earlier post I think perhaps he has COCD, computer obsessive compulsive disorder.  If that is the case as long as it relieves his COCD then keep installing windows every day if you want lol

Why just once a week? Try every day or every boot. :)

But seriously - do not reinstall Windows. Just don't. Unless it's your only hobby.
