Help please: Minimal Design Mobos

Hi there,

 

In September I will be promoted at work so I will get a pay rise & to celebrate I will be building myself a new gaming rig & it's just not worth upgrading my current rig (i5-4690K)

I like my technology to be clean & minimalist & I will be doing a white & purple build, I've worked out most of the components I will be using but I'm unsure about the Case, Mobo & variant of GPU (I will ask in those forums)

 

For the motherboard the NZXT N7 Z390 was literally perfect for me but for some reason it's not available in the UK & I can't seem to find it for import either, so I need to find another Z390 board.

 

I have 2 questions to ask:

1. Is the NZXT N7 Z390 available easily in the US & if yes where so I can import it.

2. What other motherboards are there with a clean design preferably in white.

It's hard to get in the UK these days, I want a 9700K

Just get a motherboard and make a custom cover for it. It'll probably be cheaper, plus minimalist motherboards don't exist besides NZXT.

The N7 Z370 doesn't support 9th generation Intel chips, but the N7 Z390 isn't in stock anywhere in the US.

 

As for other boards with a similar aesthetic, there really aren't any. That's what made the N7 special.

At least you can get the Z370, Z390 one isnt available at the US at all. 8700k will do.

If I can't get the NZXT I'll settle for a standard motherboad but are there any that aren't super "gamery"

Would you do something like this? You can turn the RGB lighting off if you find it tacky, though I will say the white on the PCB is a little loud.

Otherwise there's the Z390 Taichi. It's an excellent board with some white accents (and RGB lighting that you can set to white).

Both those boards are fine with me so I'll take a look at both thank you  

 

Its motherboards like the AORUS Extreme that I don't like, too much for my liking.

Reviews on the NZ Z390/Z370 Have been very poor. It has meh quality components, severe heat dissipation problems and is not user friendly. Also the board has, basically, 0 features so you're buying a fancy motherboard cover(It doesn't even have type C, honestly wtf NZXT??). Can't believe I'm about to call an Asus board a better "value" option but the ASUS Z390 A Prime board is pretty minimalist with loads of features. Also, if you're willing to shell out a bit more the Asrock Taichi is a very pretty/slick, no frills, motherboard

ask NZXT? That's why paper launches mean so little. Z370 N7 got delayed by at least half a year from announcement and reviews to actually in stock.

I knew the N7 Z370 was lacking but for some reason I thought the Z390 had fixed all that, just took another look & yup you're right. $275 & no USB C is pretty crappy, I was a sucker because to me it's a gorgeous board

I asked on Twitter and they have no plans to launch in the UK at present, I blame Brexit.......

Nope, according to the announcement it was late November but I can't find it anywhere so probably was never released & probably wont

How about a Micro-ATX build featuring the EVGA board? Quality wise at least is way better than what NZXT offers or pretty much any other Micro-ATX Intel board offers.

I guess you can get the Asus Maximus XI Code and spray paint all the aluminium covers white (including the LEDs on the I/O cover)

You could just get it custom if you care.

 

The super top of the line Asus ROG motherboards have covers that you could paint.
