What the hell just happened!?

vong

Hi all,

So I just experienced some bizarre connection issues and want to know wtf happened. Let's start with the devices, ethernet powerline adaper, htpc and tv with led back lighting.

I took one of those double 4 pin connectors out from the led strips (to try on another led strip) then started experiencing slow internet and disconnections. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure what had happened. Realised it might have been the little connector so I threw that back on and everything started working normally again. So what the heck was that all about? I'm not even using the leds anymore so why did that have such an effect on the powerline adapters???

My only guess is it was just a really really weird coincidence? Try it multiple times and see if it keeps happening. If it does I've got absolutely no clue.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Since Powerline AV uses your household wiring, it's possible that it can be affected by power issues / surges caused by other devices drawing power from the same circuit.
