Should I buy a Razer Blackwidow or Steelseries Apex

Airbornehurdle

I got my Origin Pc today and I already have the razer death adder but don't know which keyboard I'm going to use? Razer Blackwidow or Steelseries apex?

SteelSeries Apex is membrane, but Razer Blackwidow is mechanical, but it's Razer.... I don't have any real opinion here.

This.

I'd say none of the above. Go for something like a CoolerMaster QuickFire.

I'm kind of a razer fanboy my first razer product was the death adder in 2007 lasted til 2013, so based on that and other products I've bought I'm quite happy with their products. It really comes down to your own preference with keyboards and switches. I really like the blue switches on the blackwidow ult 13 for typing and gaming. Faster responses and better feel then my old membrane keyboard. I'd say try demoing a friends mechanical keyboard see how you like it or go to bestbuy and test them out see which switches feel the best to you.

What color scheme are you aiming at? Green LED? Honestly, you could do better with another keyboard brand than Razer for the price you are going to pay. Where will you be buying the keyboard from? Switch type?

DO not get anything Razer. I am using a Razer Taipan at the moment, I like it but it has problems like sometimes the mouse refuses to move in either X/Y axis so you have to tap it on the mouse pad. My brother has the black widow and it's too expensive for what it is. There is no removable cable which is stupid because if the cable gets ruined then you are screwed and will need to buy a new keyboard. For mechanical keyboards I would either go for a quick fire rapid pro, Trigger storm and of the ducky keyboards. The steelseries apex is not mechanical so it is a complete waste of money. The quick fire rapid pro's are the cheapest best keyboards you can get but if you want high quality then go for ducky, if you  want something in the middle go for the trigger storm or the new trigger storm which is coming out soon which has a full sized removable USB cable and some other slight improvements.

Personally, the Blackwidow is the best keyboard I have ever used. I highly recommend it.

I would have become a razer fanboy but when I got my Taipan it had a problem so I doubt I will ever go back to buying razer products. It sometimes refuses to move in either the X/Y axis so I need to tap the bottom against the mouse pad to get it working again. I have been looking out for another mouse that matches the build quality of the mouse though but I would like to have a little flare to the bottom of the mouse so I can rest my thumb and pinky on it to stop them from dragging. Still other then the problem the mouse is nice. I just find it far too expensive for what it is and that goes for every other Razer product.

If you're on the fence, just go to a local shop and test it out a little bit. It's widely carried by big name retailers ( walmart, bestbuy to name a few ).

I generally like razer products, and own both a death adder and black widow however I'll state that the quality of their products leaves much to be desired. I fangirl pretty hard when it comes to Corsiars offerings, so I might recommend you check out some of their keyboards.

Seriously, look at Ducky Shine3/Zero Shine, Cooler Master QF range, Corsair 'K' series mechanical keyboards.......I collect keyboards, and I'd buy brands that I trust. You don't see Razer mechanical keyboards in my collection......but I do have several Ducky keyboards. ^_^
