Looking for a new PSU

Mimetic

Hello,

My current PC build https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HVbq29

My current PSU Dimensions 150 x 86 x 160 (WxHxD)  https://www.scan.co.uk/products/620w-seasonic-m12-ii-evo-edition-full-modular-80plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-single-rail-48a-120mm-fan

The PSU I was considering replacing my current one with https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/4JBwfH

shows a issue concerning the size of it not buy much but still something to consider before buying.

My case https://www.scan.co.uk/products/fractal-design-define-c-mid-tower-computer-chassis-atx-matx-mitx-with-window-moduvent-technology-2x1?utm_source=pc part picker&utm_medium=referral

The new PSU (I may choose the 650w option) Dimensions 150 x 86 x 170 (WxHxD) https://www.scan.co.uk/products/750w-be-quiet!-straight-power-11-full-modular-80-plus-gold-sli-crossfire-quad-rail-625a-135mm-fan-at

or dimensions 19.3 x 15 x 8.6 cm https://www.amazon.co.uk/quiet-BN251-Dark-Power-Supply/dp/B014QT9J5M/ref=pd_sbs_147_3/259-1792376-3581932?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B014QT9J5M&pd_rd_r=02c7bc9e-2182-11e9-9599-f7e3d20a9d9c&pd_rd_w=txfCb&pd_rd_wg=epqZM&pf_rd_p=18edf98b-139a-41ee-bb40-d725dd59d1d3&pf_rd_r=KXAS4613PXWFT4GWDSZC&psc=1&refRID=KXAS4613PXWFT4GWDSZC#customerReviews

So I'm curious on recommendations on what PSU to choose that would fit ok in this case ? I am looking really to add a higher tier PSU than my current seasonic m12ii evo 620w which doesn't make too much noise.

Some others I was thinking about

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/700w-be-quiet!-pure-power-11-cm-semi-modular-80plus-gold-sli-crossfire-dual-rail-56a-120mm-fan-atx-p

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-SuperNOVA-PLATINUM-Modular-220-P2-0750-X3/dp/B011RGWZYE/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1548520941&sr=1-1&keywords=EVGA+SuperNOVA+platinum

Thoughts ?

Thanks.

This will be more than enough  https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/9q4NnQ/evga-power-supply-220g20650y1

Have a few of them myself, nice PSUs fairly quiet, in fact mine doesn't even spin the fan at all in most situations.

Why are you looking at 750W PSUs to power a ~250W PC? A good 450W is already plenty. The Straight Power 11 450W is a good choice. If you want the Dark Power Pro 11, there's a 550W version of it. If you're going to get custom cables, the Whisper M and RMx are good options (both use the same pinout).

:)

I always like to give my PC that little extra room incase I add more to it so I usually pick around 650watt depending on what is available. I agree though the 750w maybe abit overkill for this I'm also thinking of the dimensions of the unit with the case I have & the quality (higher tier than my current psu).

If anyone else has some more recommendations please feel free to post them as long as they aren't too big for my case ;)

Even so, 650W is overkill, 550W is about right

Hello,

Get a Straight Power 11 450W or Bitfenix Formula, Whisper M

To be on the safe side -> 550W.

Your PC is like 250W.

My Ryzen 7/1700x with Power Color RX480 Red Devil (IIRC right now with the Default BIOS, not the 1330MHz one). is right now at around 200-230W while Playing AC: Odyssey...

You have a rather standard PSU, you could probably even 200mm PSU should fit without Problems...
