Monitor flickering when displaying darker colors.

thebaguette

Hello,

My ASUS VG245H 75hz monitor appears to have an odd flicker when displaying darker colors such as grey. It is especially noticeable when using Steam. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Could you upload a video of it?

I have tried that but it is very hard to capture on video because it's not like it's flickering on and off. It's similar to when a light bulb is dying and it flickers very quickly from dim to bright.

Ah. It may be an auto dimming feature. Some monitors and TVs have features to dim down on darker colors (not sure why anyone would want that). Look through your monitor settings for something related to this.

I have checked my monitor settings and there seems to be nothing there. It might be an issue from the factory because I have two of these and only one does it. Also the way I worded my previous reply was off, sorry for the confusion. What I meant was it was constantly flickering like a dying light bulb, and it's weird because the brightness of the flickering color doesn't change, it's almost like it's jittering.
