I don't think people understand that the book is a majority about tech and his business and he said he may include some of his views on some political subjects (I'm assuming similar to taxation and in regards to regulations on business in addition to some other personal views). The poll's question should mention that it's a snippet of the book - not the entire book (as people are assuming it is).

 

Perhaps it being stated like "Would you read Linus's book?" with answers like "yes", "No, because a chapter has political views", or "No, because I don't like books".

This would reduce the bias of the poll.

Honestly, that's not a good outlook (not changing views part). People should always be open to hearing what others say (even though you might think it's stupid). If not, then you're living in a vacuum and limiting your learning / personal improvement.

 

@fpoDo you know that the book was mentioned to only have a small part with politics/views? The majority of the book should be about tech and business (and if we're lucky, still some poorly written genitalia jokes).

Really wouldn't care for it, specially because i try not to mix up tech figures with political opinions, but that's just me.

Same thing on the car world, i watch and read some folks in the auto publication industry that are really against my political stance but i really don't care because they are not presenting political opinions during their articles.

Politics are politics and i really like to talk about it in real life.

I don't mind Linus expressing his opinion when it's relevant, I wouldn't buy a book about it though - no offence to Linus but he's not someone I'd go to for political advice, he doesn't really have any more information than I do on the topic and he didn't study anything pertaining politics.

I won't be buying it as I personally don't care what his opinions are. Nothing against him in any way, but what he thinks about things that he has no control over doesn't particularly matter to me. I like him as a techish youtuber and thats why I watch his channel. His political opinions have nothing to do with why I interact whether I agree with them or not. If he wants to do it simply to put the information out into public record, go for it. But I don't think it will do anything positive (or negative) for his career.
