Origin download speed limit to 7.60mb/s!

THEPASHKA

So i've decided to download Battlefield 4 and my origin download speed isn't going any higher than 7.60mb/s however in task manager it says that its getting 62mb/s is there any way to make the download speed higher in Origin or its like a locked limit?

Since your internet is clearly running faster than the speeds you're getting in Origen, I feel like EA implemented a cap so its easier on their servers.

It's megabytes versus megabits. 1 megabit (Mb) is equal to one eight of a megabyte (1MB). 60/8=7.5.

There's a difference between Mbps and MB/s.

My games on Steam usually download at 12MB/s which is 96Mbps. (If you ever download games on Steam and you live in the UK, set the server location to Manchester. It's infinitely quicker than London)

Nope but it's entirely possible this could happen in some populated locations (most likely NYC, San Francisco and Los Angeles)

Origin has always had absolutely horrible download speed for me.

For me its usually the glorious Steam which is having issues. Origin always downloads at full speed.

maybe it's your location or something origin is nutritious for being awful in the eastern US. I literally drop beneath a Mb during origin downloads but steam always hold strong at  10MB+. Everyone I play with has this exact issue but they're also in the eastern us.
